Is the FM14 for 18.99 from that Brazillian website alright lads? Just wondering Is there some catch to it seeing as it's so cheap.

I think its legit but you've to do sumtin. not sure what that is tho. you can pick it up for about 22 euro either on other sites ive seen.

Cheers lad..he was in the last year of his contract, picked him up £600k from Palermo..has scored 5 goals in his first 4 games! Have him tied to a 3 year deal with an extra 1 year optional extension so if any big clubs come knocking, they can expect to pay big for him

Into my 3rd season with Arsenal and things are going pretty well.
So far I've won the BPL,FA Cup and Capital one cup.

I've also been given an 120M transfer budget :pac:

It is grand, thats where I got mine, just use a Brazilian billing address.

Try Mitrovic from anderlecht. Lacina traore is pretty savage for me as a lone striker hes getting nearly a goal a game

Bought a centre back called Botswick for £200k from Peterborough while in League 1, now 4 years later im in my 2nd season in the Premier League & hes unreal. hes my captain now , hes great in the air & has scored 12 goals in 30 games so far. Bargain for anyone on a budget and hes worth £5mill now

For anyone who has downloaded the new patch, is there some sort of bug as regards yellow and red cards, been averaging 6 yellows a match and a red every second match, using the same tactic as I had been using before the patch and it is the same save game, managers are constantly complaining about my physical style as well, never happened in the 4 seasons before the patch.

I havent noticed it too much for my team but when i check the league results theres a sea of red cards every weekend. I finished my first season in the championship I counted the total red cards from all teams combined and it was over 60

I love getting one over on Real Madrid, I signed a newgen called Marcelo from them last season for 16 million , he was 17 in their academy but I put him straight into the first team to give him a chance and he exploded on to the seen, his stats were shooting up and soon enough I knew I had a Messi on my hands. He tore defences to shreds in his first season finishing with 15 goals and 16 assists as an AM in behind my strikers.

Pre-season Real Madrid come knocking.

Whats the most profit people have made on a transfer? I bought a Brazilian regen striker for £74k from Santos when he was 19, took him a few seasons to develop & score goals in the premier league, but after 2 seasons of scoring 20 goals plus Real Madrid & City came knocking and i agreed to let him go for £30 million & signed an Argentinian u21 international from Boca for £8 million & now hes doing the business

There has been a red card for the opposing team in almost every game I have played this season.

Two strange things just happened.

Courtois kicked the ball right into Terry and there was an own goal. Annoyed but fair enough it happens.

Same game, on penalties, goes down to Everton needing to score to stay in. Out of nowhere Courtois runs out and is right in front of the penalty taker when he takes it and we win.

Don't know what to make of it

Isn't that corner set up just an exploit of the match engine...kinda like a cheat, that was in FM 10 & FM 11

How in the name of football manager god have they not sorted that out yet!

In saying that I aim my corners towards the near post , have 4 set piece specialists and score an unholy amount of goals from it with my two CB......so....

I don't see why it would be? I have lads who are super at long throws and set pieces, and Benteke is a beast in the air. We by no means score from every set piece. And it's not as if we're wining 8-0 every week. I don't see it as an unrealistic feature.

People have been reporting that both their CB's are their top scores with 25 goals+. Ah well if it works for you, happy days. Wish I could get my southampton strikers playing well. The rest of the team are playing great :O.

Man City just Bought Sterling from Liverpool for €29 million and he has only played about 40 games over the last 4 years. Mad money.

It's way too easy to get a good job in '14. I started an Asian save with a few additional leagues downloaded and my experience set to Sunday League. Nothing took my fancy at the start so I waited a while. After 8 games of the Chinese SL season, the Guizhou Renhe manager was sacked and they offered me an interview without me even applying. 500k per week wage budget and €1.9m for transfers. They're probably the 2nd or 3rd biggest Chinese team and I walked into the job with no experience.

I can outbid almost any team in the world right now. The board allows me to offer €190k P/W max to a foreigner. I outbid a few Brazilian teams and Atletico Madrid to get Eduardo Vargas signed.

Just got this the other day and fired it up over the weekend. Went straight into FM mode and was overwhelmed to start with. I haven't played a footie manager game since the spectrum. :eek:

Anyway, it's a mad old thing and seemingly random a lot of the time.

I'm managing Liverpool and I'm just into my first season. I beat everyone in the pre-season friendlies, except for Marsielles (1-1). Then into the Prem and I can't beat anyone.

I haven't changed an tactics, I'm playing my best players in their most suitable positions and I am using a mix of three formations (3-5-2 "Attacking", 4-3-2-1 "Attacking" and 4-1-3-2 "Control") that my team are comfortable with. Most of my team are "in the green" (ie happy). There's a clean bill of health, except for Martin Kelly. None of the staff are telling me about an issue that I should know about. Everything looks rosy enough...

...but Swansea beat me 3-1, West Ham 4-0 and Man City 2-1. I can't remember the other fixtures off hand (Sunderland and Norwich are in the mix), but I have yet to win a single premiership game and I'm languishing at the bottom of the table, no matter what I do. Losing to Man City is ok, considering, but not getting a result against anyone else at all? That's just weird.

It's like the PC has just decided no matter what I do, nothing is going to work, despite everything looking right with the team.

So, how is the player supposed to gauge how things are going to go? Surely, the fact that your players are happy, content with training and comfortable with tactics are all indications that you're doing something right? How else is the player supposed to feel confident in what they're doing?

I'm thinking of going for a simple 4-4-2, but this doesn't really suit the players IRL, and I cannot see it working in FM either.

Strange old game.

I have an average of 20 shots per game 5 games into my season, most of them on target yet ive still only scored 2 goals.
Whats going on here??
