Sky bb vs smart bb rural?

    Hi folks just moved to a rental in dromiskin, co louth and hoping to get bb in with/ without a phone. Have rang around and eircom say the max I can get on the line is 5mb but efibre is on its way. Any suggestions as the missus needs it to work from home ASAP. Also for streaming and the odd download!

    Without a phone or without a phone line?

    You need a phone line for DSL(broadband), if so just order from the provider of your choice as they are all almost exactly the same except for maybe on price

    Yeah figured that out !
    Eircom broadband
    Test line 5 MB broadband available- uncongested unlimited 35 euro per month phone line to land line north irl
    And rep of irl.


    Sky broadband
    40 euro unlimited bb free weekends calls and eve to uk and irl going up after 6 months.

    Smart telecom bb unlimited plus landline to irl and uk eve 35 euro.

    Seems the price is the main factor however had read mixed review on routers. Is that the case or just folk talking up one provider over the other?

    Net1 are also available around there http://www.net1.ie/ just so you have an alternative...

    Routers are just routers (cheap and nasty) and with DSL you can provide your own router if the one provided doesn't do the job
