Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Less likely to be chances with him on the pitch though, he's just not getting into the positions tonight.

I agree with you but knowing him he'll probably get a jammy goal and prove us wrong :D

it is encouraging they keep the ball while being ineffective though lest the other team doesn't get to put us under much pressure

Yeah, this situation a year ago and we'd just be pumping it long and giving it back to them and sitting deep waiting for them.

At least when we have the ball, they can't score.

Was watching Germany mauling Sweden at the start of second half there. Gotze got a lovely goal. If only they had a defence they would be nailed on IMO

True but the Kazakhs couldn't care less about putting pressure on the ball.

Equally not long ago we wouldn't of cared much about keeping the ball and playing it around

Just got to be encouraged with what we see rather than what the other guys choose to do or dont do

Would have been Doyle off for me, but glad to see McGeady on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

    Can you believe that!

McGeady finally gets on but he takes off our best player tonight. The mind boggles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Good to see McGeady on, but not for Reid. Had to be Doyle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

    good sub ;p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,369 ✭✭✭LostBoy101

This is why we needed McGeady..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

So who put that in the net?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

    Well, McGeady justifies the change!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

On two minutes and pretty much made that goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

    Well done Stokes and McGeady!

Great by Stokes and fair play McGeady for incisiveness and winning a header he had no right to win

Elmo Creed played a nice little one-two with Keane before he was subbed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

    Instant impact by McGeady

Tactical masterstroke by King. The guy can do no wrong :pac:

Definite own goal, or did Doyle get a touch/have a case?

After seeing it again, OG all the way.

Great to see the third goal. 2-1 was so uncomfortable. We can possibly make second pot in the draw for France 2016 if we get the 3 points.

Not at all. He hasn't played his best tonight but I wouldn't be surprised if he did nick a goal. Not calling him jammy in general at all.

Meaningless as it is in the great scheme of things we can hardly take the moral high ground about France cheating back in 09 now when we were more then happy to play on when that ball went out over the line.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,429 ✭✭✭Kenjataimu

Was that Dunne in the way of that shot?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

Would like to see O'Brien or Kelly on for Doyle for the last few minutes and psuh coleman further up the pitch.

Yes....because trying to keep the ball in play and it maybe being out is the exact same as catching the ball and passing it to Gallas for a goal. Exact same. Couldn't be more similar.

    fairly different scenario, ffs.

Henry deliberately handled the ball twice, Stokes was trying to legally keep it in, there is no way he knew it was over, and if the ref doesn't blow, you keepm playing, that's the rules.

Its not the exact same but at the end of the day he hardly put his hand up and told the referee or linesman the ball had gone out now to be fair either.

Are King and Doyle an item or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

If Trap was managing, no doubt we'd be hanging onto our lead for dear life. By controlling possession though, we've never looked in danger of conceding a second.

Weso for Stokes, I'll take it!

There is a world of difference between taking an advantage of a mistake.....and cheating. For example, the bank accidentally putting money in your account......as opposed to walking into the bank with a shotgun and stealing it. I mean, I shouldn't have to explain the difference but apparently I do.

Stop digging, your point has already been totally dismissed.

Its not the exact same situation it goes without saying and of course we'd all do the same in Stokes situation. Henry had a little more time to think of his scenario but who is to say an Irish player or any other player wouldnt do the same in his situation either. Anyways its ancient history now

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

    MCCarthy MOTM, what?

Clearly Reid was the best player on the park tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

    MOTM Mc Carthy absolutely.

Ozil has limped off the pitch tonight for any gooners in here

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

I think McCarthy had a good game, but everything positive we did, until he was subbed, came through Reid.
