Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its not the exact same situation it goes without saying and of course we'd all do the same in Stokes situation. Henry had a little more time to think of his scenario but who is to say an Irish player or any other player wouldnt do the same in his situation either. Anyways its ancient history now

    Arsenal fan?

Coleman for me. Reid as a close second.

Coleman flapped for the goal. Poor mistake yes. But he has looked superb since and very dangerous going forward.

Exactly, so leave it and stop drawing pointless comparisons.

Happy with that. We tried to play football and while it wasn't perfect, it suggests we're not as ****e as some people would like to say.

There's arguments that the pressure was off tonight, the standard of opposition etc etc, but with Trap in charge vs similar opposition we've limped over the line and generally looked atrocious. Tonight was very comfortable.

Fair point and yes we would all chase the lost cause in that situation. Think it was more then a little out though. Anyways it doesn't make a shít of difference.

Horrendous game. There is nothing in that Irish team to recommend it.

It was a terrible game. I think we are very poor at soccer.

Really didn't want to see that table.

It makes for depressing reading. :(

    Dunphy is obsessed with McClean.

And wtf is his malfunction with not understanding where Reid was playing?

It was watchable and we won. It's an improvement at the very least. Paris 2016 here we come.

I like the way the soccer panel just talk about the game.

If this was GAA, Pat Spillane would be trying to tie in a (shíte) joke about today's budget into his analysis.

Eamonn Dunphy: "We need a new coach soon. And I the man for the job"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Strongbow10

Dunphy needs to be put out to pasture

This schtick is getting extremely tiresome, its insulting to the viewer aswell.

He is so kneejerk its ridiculous.

Richie Sadlier always looks like hes looking off into the distance.

They are all struggling to blame someone now, poor ould Noel King is getting it now despite the fact he temporary manager for 2 absolutely meaningless games.

    Agree completely.

Don't think King is the man to lead the team going into the next campaign, but he has showed that this team is capable of playing decent football at times even in the two matches he's been in charge. It's important that the next manager we choose understands the modern game. That means selecting a manager who will play 4-2-3-1, get us pressing the opposition and compressing the space that they have to play in.

Dunphy always seem to latch onto a player who isn't getting a game. McClean would probably have done well tonight but his career has gone backwards in the last year.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,300 ✭✭✭✭Seaneh

Dunphy and Giles are spoofers of the highest order.

How Saddler can sit there and listen them without breaking his hole laughing I have no idea.

Absolutely. there always some no mark on the bench who would make us a world beater in Dunphys eyes

    Expectations??

Try and get the second spot in the group.

Is that now having expectations too high??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

this is stupid they had 80% possession or there abouts got 3 goals (sorta) and never looked in danger of loseing how is dunphy seeing this as the most horrible negative light possible this is a big big improvement over the last time we played this very same team thats what you should judge it on ?

    What complete trolling nonsense

Dunphy and Giles are the "senior" analysts - if Sadlier tries to disagree, the two boys just team up on him and unfortunately Sadlier doesn't have the wit to argue back even though he's right.

80% and what did we do with it nothing they gave us 2 goals. When we play a decent team it will be the same auld story.

why the f*ck does Dunphy always sound as if he is about to cry? is he on the sauce or what?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Lennonist

The 4-2-3-1 system is fine, the problem was the personnel used. It would have worked better with McGeady and McClean in the wide positions, or Pilkington but he was injured I think.

Dunphy is banging the Mick McCarthy drum big style lately, which is hilarious when you think about how he was one of the main media gob****es calling for the FAI to sack him when they let him go.

Dunphy loves kissing the players collective arses. The players are always "magnificent".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

there is dunphy talking about the manager now. Saying all the usual.

I don't think we are good enough full stop. I would love to see us playing better though.
