Delighted with that,we had a big improvement in the 2nd half.Townsend is on fire at the moment.

Soldado getting one from open play is a big relief. Hope Sandro stays fit. Townsend improving with every game. I agree we were hard to watch in the first half but this team is coming together and not yet at full tilt. I believe we will get better as season progresses. We are still only three points off top whilst not at our best. The slow conservative type of football we play will change, Im sure and I would not be to hard on us yet.

Was at the game. You guys weren't at your best but did improve in the 2nd. Townsend, Sandro and Chiriches standouts for me and great for Soldado to get that elusive open play goal.

Very important we got the clean sheet after the last game.

Bit of a smash and grab win to some extent (villa were coming back into it when Benteke gpcame on), so it was good to be on the right end of it this time.

Apparently this is our best st start to a Premier League season - 16 points from a possible 24.

I think an average of two points per game will see us finish in the top two.

76 points is only 4 better than last year. It will see us in top 4 but not top 2.

That should be our realistic target, we are still trying out and haven't found our strongest formation.

Although saying that, Sandro and Paulinho is our strongest midfield. We should aim to get a goal or two up and then remove our no 10 for Dembele to beef things up defensively. We have a weaknesses in defence until Kaboul, Capoue and Rose return

I see this being a far more competitive league. Teams like United, City and Chelsea have, and will, drop more points than expected.

Agree, 76 points will def get more than 4th.

Agree with Mickman, Andros passes a lot more than he gets credit for, it was a shoot on site policy at the start of the season but presumably AVB has had a word.

Just a word about our North London neighbours:

Of the 8 games played so far this year, Arsenal are worse off than the corresponding fixtures last year. They actually took maximum points from those 8 games last year.

    24/24 v 19/24

They have also only played 1 team so far in the top half of the table (and that was us).

Although I will give it to them, they are playing some sumptuous football at the minute... and Aaron Ramsey is lording it totally.

Arsenal's next match is against Palace (three points).

Though, after that, they have Liverpool, United and Southampton. Three tough games, even though United are slightly weaker this season.

Last year Arsenal drew to Liverpool, lost to United and beat Southampton. This year I can see three draws.
