    Hi guys

I'm thinking about building in an audio system into the living room & kitchen/dining area when i'm doing some renovations to the house next month if money allows.

Audio will be coming from my mac mini, Ipad, CD player or Sky box.

In an perfect setup i'd like to control everything from the ipad.

Ideally i'd like ceiling mounted speakers in the kitchen and surround sound in the living room.

Would it be possible to do what i'm proposing on a budget of €1000?

    Thanks

    Hi Elbow,

Many thanks for the post and apologies for the delay getting back to you.

Yep, no problem squeezing that spec in under €1000 - in fact you should get a decent system for that!

Here is what we would propose:

Pioneer VSX923 AV Receiver with Apple Airplay
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/pioneer/vsx923/pion-vsx923

Tannoy SFX5.1 5.1 Surround speakers for the living room:

Monitor Audio CWT140 trimless in ceiling speakers for the Kitchen * 2
    http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/products/ci-series/cwt/cwt-140/

Total Retail is £830 / €1019.99 - I can do it all on a Boardie price for you at just £769.95 / €899.99 leaving you a bit of budget for decent speaker cable and interconnects etc..

Keep me posted if you need any further details or any other options and thanks again for the opportunity to quote,

    Many thanks John,

I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there :D

Just 1 quick questions, Is it airplay ready out of the box or will i need to buy wifi adaptors etc?

    Edit:

Forgot the DVD player is banjaxed, could you quote for a Blueray player as well please.

    Elbow,

The 923 has Airplay pre-installed so you dont need anything else - it will need to be connected to you home router - if you cannot get a cable to the router you can use Pioneers Wifi Adaptor - but I would strongly advise that you save your money and try to get a direct connection or else use a TP Link internet over mains adaptor which are really fast and start at just £29.95 - http://www.richersounds.com/product/wireless-streaming-accessories/tp-link/tl-pa210/tpli-tl-pa210kit Completely brilliant product!

    If you wanted a decent Blu-Ray I'd go for the sony BDPS4100 http://www.richersounds.com/product/blu-ray/sony/bdps4100/sony-bdps4100-blk at just £79.95 / €99.99 - excellent product for under €100..

Keep us posted ( and dont forget to get those speaker and HDMI cables in before the plasterers start!)

I'll go for that package so (pending boss's approval :o)

Whats the stock situation like on everything? Not that it really matters seeing as it'll be 4-6 weeks before i'll need everything

Finally whats the price of decent speaker cable these days?

    Thanks

    Elbow,

all available from stock at the moment - (SFX is tight but more coming in on Friday) ..

We normally recommend the Cambridge symphony 100 for installs - its a great little cable for £0.99/Mtr and its easy to run - we normally give Boardies a 25% discount on it if it's purchased with a system so we could do it at £0.70/mtr for you if you were going for the system:
