    New ICU Chairperson

    The ICU Executive has elected the Vice Chairperson, Pete Morriss, to fill the vacancy of Chairperson left by Jonathan O'Connor's resignation. This creates a vacancy at Vice Chairperson. The ICU Executive would like anybody interested in being considered for this post to forward their name to the Secretary by the end of October, for consideration at the next Executive meeting.

    Pete may well do a very good job.

    I hope he sees his main task as rewriting the ICU Constitution and as part of that creating a smaller ICU executive and more relevant constitution. That would be less fractious and might be important to allow some 'silent' executive members to fall away in a gentle way.

    The EGM might therefore focus on adoption of the new constitution and election of a new team to a smaller executive. We could all hope a more efficient, fit for purpose, ICU could emerge in say 6 months.

    Changes on ICU Executive

    At its meeting last Sunday, the ICU Executive appointed Gerry Graham to fill the vacancy at Vice Chairperson. He will remain as Tournament Director. Another change on the Executive is that, due to pressure of work, Noel Keating has resigned as treasurer. The new Treasurer is Paul Carey.
