fix iPod nano (3rd generation) wheel and centre button

Hi all

is it possible at this stage to fix an ipod nano Gen 3 click wheel and center button?

This is in any other case a fully working nano and its a pity to have to throw it out

Is this everything needed to fix the wheel? and if so is it actually hard to do yourself?

I'm not sure, tbh. I suppose it depends on what issues you're having. From the little I know sometimes a click wheel not working is down to the whole board being damaged, but I'd say it's more likely just the wheel/ribbon part I've posted.

In terms of doing it yourself, as with all iPods, getting it open is the hard part really (I have an iPod Classic and didn't find it as easy as in the videos, tbh, at least the first time the device is opened). Once you've done that it's usually pretty manageable, though I've not had to replace a click wheel in the past. From what I can tell from this video once you have the front cover off and away from the board and the screen, you should have access to the wheel, or at least it should be apparent how to get at it.
