It IS one though I've been mulling over for a few years now (I'm not sure if starting a thread on it here would be a good idea tbh), but even the Nye/Ham debate has me question "Do religious people ACTUALLY believe what they're saying, or is it just a question of 'Well I've gone this far, and despite the overwhelming scientific evidence, my pride means I can't afford to lose face now or I'll look like an even BIGGER idiot!'"...

    Interesting commentary here -

Bill Nye and Ken Ham Debated Creationism—But Did They Change Anyone's Mind?

I wasn't sure whether the above discussion would fit in the Hazards of Belief thread or the Interesting Stuff thread either, still finding my way about around here... :o

Anyway, back to the funnies, apologies for dragging it off on a tangent there... :o

Why the hell did he go to a debate in the creation "museum"?

Probably coz Ham asked him to, and Nye judged (accurately in retrospect) that it's best to take the fight to the front door.

I think Ham was anxious to have a debate as his organization looks like it's in financial trouble -- visitor numbers are declining heavily at the "museum" and his planned, controversial Ark Encounter looks dead in the water (ha!).
