    Hi master man,

Electric Ireland only offers PAYG meters for gas.

For electricity, we provide Electric Ireland customers who are in arrears with a meter that they can simultaneously top up and pay towards their arrears with. We cannot install such meters in an apartment or for a property whose meter is in a switch-room, and we cannot install them for customers who are not in arrears. We also cannot install them for customers who are on the NightSaver tariff. If an Electric Ireland customer would like us to check their account to see whether they would be eligible, that is no problem once they fulfill the criteria outlined above.

Do let us know if we can be of further assistance to you.

    Regards,
    Una

    Hi Denis,

It would just be a matter of contacting Electric Ireland to have the PAYG gas meter installed - the installation fee is €110.35.

All details regarding PAYG gas are here on our website.

But is it possible to get an electric meter install. The things is that there is only one meter in the apartment and very often we had disconnection from ESB as the landlord is not paying his bill.

    Hi again,

Electric Ireland just installs top-up meters for electricity for those Electric Ireland customers who are in arrears and whose electricity meter is not a NightSaver and not in an apartment/switch-room.

Installation would be dependent on the above factors so each application for one needs to be assessed as to the applicant's eligibility.

    Regards,
    Una
