Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Threatened with legal action by debt collectors for money I don't owe

I was overcharged by Eircom a number of months ago. It took months and intervention from ComReg but they finally cancelled the charge last week.

Before the charge was cancelled, it was passed on to debt collectors. I have received regular letters and emails from them threatening legal action and the seizure of my possessions if I don't pay them.

I have told them that Eircom have cancelled the debt but they insist that I must prove it.

I asked ComReg to get Eircom to sort it. I got a phonecall from Eircom today to say that the person who normally deals with these things is out sick, and I should just ignore the letters.

    What do I do?

I say this with the best intention - you go and see a solicitor. If you're being threatened with legal action, that is always your first port-of-call.

Aside from that, legal advice cannot be sought or given in this forum or on this website. Please read the forum charter.
