Hi - I've some questions on an Employer group pension.

If the employee has a contract of employment which stipulates that the employer will pay 5% into the pension - does this contract need to be amended if the employer wants to cut the contribution?

What grounds does the employee have if the employer cuts their pension contribution (reason being the recent financial crisis, can't afford it), but doesn't apply the same cut to other staff members?

I'm assuming it's completely up to the employer how much they pay / do not pay into each individual employee's pension, but just checking
