    To get an home insurance do you know if the alarm system a mandatory requirement?

    No it's not mandatory but you do get a discount for having one, more so for a monitored one as opposed to just a standard one.

    If you take the discount, you must make sure to always set it going out.
    Otherwise the insurance co may not pay out fully for any burglary claim.

    I did mine yesterday & it was €46 for a standard alarm

    It isn't worth the discount. Some insurance companies only give €5 discount for a non-monitored alarm. If your alarm stops working or you forget to turn it on your insurance will not cover you. The risk isn't worth it IMHO. Alarms are pretty useless too along with a general annoyance.
