I wouldn't care which Russian ship came in if they had the Greenpeace crew that they kidnapped in international waters on board.

The greenpeace crew who attacked a Russian Owned oil rig in an act of Piracy?

The "attack" you mention consisted of trying to attach a banner to the rig in order to highlight the dangers to the last great wilderness on earth, an area where oil spills are practically impossible to clean up. If we care about the marine environment, and I presume everyone on this forum cares, then we should be standing up for the likes of Greenpeace and not the greedy ones who are only interested in how much they can make irrespective of the consequences.

Mod note: Festival info and discussion in this thread; Maritime Environmental Policy in a new thread = good.

For discussion of Greenpeace vs the Russians, Sustainability & Environmental Issues or Politics would be more appropriate forums.

Weather isn't playing it's part. I can usally see the spit bank area of the harbour from my house in Carrigaline. Can't even see the far end if the village this morning. Such a pity.:(
