Rathoat & Fairyhouse Races - Recommendations Please!

I’m planning on having my stag based around a day at theFairyhouse Races. I’m not familiar with the area at all so I’m looking for somesuggestions We will be travelling by bus and eventually making our wayback into Dublin city centre. But we want to make a few pit stops along theway. Can anyone recommend any nice villages…

Can anyone recommend any nice villages / towns around herewith some nice “old man” type pubs?

What is Rathoat village like? Will there be a lot of peoplein the town on the day of the races? Any nice pubs to recommend?
