Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone sync to new laptop

Gf wants to backup her iPhone to her work laptop using itunes. This will be the first time backing up to this laptop and she wants to avoid having it sync first and wipe the phone as there aren't any other backups on another device. icloud isn't really an option as the connection is way too slow for uploading pics.

Is there an option to prevent it automatically syncing once connected so she can backup her stuff first?

Before connecting her iPhone to the laptop tell her to launch iTunes on the laptop, go to the top of the page & choose Edit, Preferences, then choose Devices. Tick the box (or make sure it's already ticked) beside Prevent iPods, iPhone & iPads From Synching Automatically. Click OK.

To make double sure check again to make sure the changes have been saved!

She can then go ahead & connect her phone without it synching automatically.
