Declaring BTWEA for income tax?

Hi I setup my own business last year and will have to complete a return before the end of the month. For a period of that time I was receiving the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA) from the Dept of Social Welfare. Do I have to delcare this as income on my tax return? Thanks Jack

Back to Work Enterprise Allowance is not taxable. However, if you ureceived it I suspect you were receiving some other form of Social Welfare (eg Jobseekers benefit) before it and that may be taxable.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but can anyone here tell me what form I should be looking for here to file a return?

Haven't done it before.

Was talking to Revenue on the phone before and they sent me out a form called F11(s) if i recall correctly.

I can't, however, for the life of me, find it.

I set up a business under the BTWEA scheme, i started out in February of 2012 (and ended the scheme in January 2013). I did a few jobs since then (with DSP's permission) so i've made money since the scheme/business officially ended (though the business seems to still exist in an official capacity).

I'm completely lost and my finances are fairly straight forward (wasn't exactly rolling in money) so looking for the simplest and easiest way to do this

Don't declare BTWEA - Its not taxable income

Fill in form 11 - You can print one online at www.revenue.ie

Is there not an 11S (S for 'short', as in a shortened version of the form)?

I'm on the Revenue site and the newest Form 11 i can find is 2011?
