Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I'm going to lanzarote for Christmas. Can anyone recommend any nice restaurants in puerta del Carmen?

Arena -- one of the best places I've eaten in this planet. It's in a residential area up near Tias. A bit bizarre as you'd have to go through private villas to get to it. Chef Louis I think is your man who heads the kitchen. Its fine dining with serious good good plates of food. So good we went there twice in a space of a few days.

Another one, I can't remember the name though, pity, but it's a seafood restaurant at the old harbour. And it's at the very end, overlooking the sea. I'll come back to you when I find the name of it, but golly it was superb.

You might also want to venture to Puerto Calero marina, only 5-10 min by taxi. A number of good eats there too. Again, can't remember the name, sorry. We were there for lunch and dinner twice in 2 separate restaurants (one prominent one at the corner, it's noticeably good from the setting and menu) and both were excellent.

I got fat on my holiday there.

Ok, Casa Roja is the name of that restaurant at the corner of old harbor. Fabulous.

In New Town Taberna Niño and La Canada.

Taberna is an excellent Tapas restaraunt. Try the black pudding and strawberry with pine kernel cream! It's also good value too. Canada has very good red meat.

The nearest 2 restaraunts to cads Roja are also very good. Can't remember names. One is a fishermans co-op and the other has a fish shop

In the new town head to Maritoni, a tiny restaurant and it doesn't look like much from the outside but you'll be treated to some culinary delights inside - just look at tripadvisor reviews. http://www.tripadvisor.ie/Restaurant_Review-g954043-d1000011-Reviews-Maritoni-Tias_Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html
If there's no table worth waiting for one!

There's a lovely little Italian up near the Casino in the New Town called Pepe Nero's..

We ate here recently and we were very impressed.. lovely quaint family feel to the place and the food is divine..

Service is terrific and they cannot do enough for you from the minute you walk into the place.

Not Peueto del Carmen I know, but if you can, have an evening meal in the Gran Hotel in Arricefe. The food is lovely and actually very well priced.

Its a five star hotel and would be a lovely place to have Christmas dinner.

Views are pretty nice too as the restaurant is on the top floor of Lanzarote's only tall building..
