Also picked this up today, 84 years old...not on the road, but still!

Its amazing how narrow cars were back then. I know people were smaller but I can imagine putting 3 adults in the back of that.

Best of luck with the project.

There is a 91 Daihatsu Charade in the local town, and I've tried to buy it a few times.
Still sitting in the same place, growing green now.
Drove past it again today, and thought "what a shame".
Round the next bend and what do I meet, a 91 Starlet.
They are still out there, getting their owners around.

Any early 80s Starlets around? I bought one from an auld lad in a nursing home in 95. I drove it as a family and work car till 2000. Sold it to a young lad for 'Rallying' . Never saw it or many like it ever since.

Duke will be in here any minute...

It's not beyond the pale to think that maybe, just maybe, Toyota just nailed "cars" with the E10 E11, P80 and P90.

    They just don't ****ing die.

This one was driven by an elderly lady up in Howth, wouldn't sell for love nor any amount of money.

I see now that it had a change of ownership in 2018, so she must have finally relented. I used to always see it about, she was very proud of it. Hope its in good hands..

Never heard of Dursey Island till today. I love this entry on its Wikipedia page.
Dursey Sound is also one of the "signature discovery points" along the Wild Atlantic Way[16] - a coastal touring route that stretches along Ireland's Atlantic coastline. On one road there is a 100 km/h speed limit sign – probably placed as a prank.[17]

Funny you should mention that. This is the road leading away from the cable car station. You wouldn't do 30 on it.

Maybe the signs are remnants of when there was a rally there. :D

It's the same near my mother in law's house. A stretch of road barely the width of a car that was very, very badly potholed. After two years the council came out and, to be fair, did a fantastic job on it. Then some plonker decided to put an 80 sign at each end of it, with opposing 50s. You could probably reach 80 but you'd have to jam hard on the brakes as soon as you got there.
