He sold it back in 2014 to a dealer to be scrapped. It was a 318is when he bought it.

Central European couple driving it now, they do love a BMW :D

Just confirmed, it is indeed their old car. When I sent it to the last owner said he can still even see the dent on the passenger side:D. Said he wished he had held onto it now.

Great spot - rare species these days. There weren't too many of these to begin with.

There were a few estate models around here.
Cousins family put about half a million miles on a red one, I must look and see if there are any old photos of it....

re the early Passat Neckarsulm posted on the last page, wasn't there a hatchback variant of that model called the Santana?

I think the Santana was a different name for the Passat in other markets.

    Heavily used as taxis.
I spent a long time in one near Beijing last year. Looks old on the outside, but has some modern VW features on the inside.

Passat B2 saloon renamed to Santana. Same as saloon Golf (Jetta) and saloon Polo (Derby). :)

I was going to say that posting pics of post 1990 cars doesn't qualify as old until I realised that that is up to 30 years ago.

I think I have to lie down for a bit.

Is the reg counting up to 90?

That must be a very late Mk2 all the same given production finished on that in Feb 89 and then the Mk 3 started.

    September 89 per NCT?
