Must be a day for it. Saw zx 10556 cortina crusader earlier at kilshane cross and 79ls**** cortina in roselawn an hour r so ago. Both smashing looking with the Ghia wheels n trim.

I reckon LOTS of people learning to drive in the mid 80s to mid to late 90s - will have learned to drive in one of those Corollas - as they were incredibly popular.

Quite a few came in as 2nd hand Japanese imports especially around 89/90 if I recall - in addition to what was (from what I recall) a plentiful supply of original Irish cars

Great cars for the era.

1990/91 Jetta - thought it had a 90 reg - but the colour plus tinted glass seemed to suggest it was a pacific end of the line limited edition

Mk 5 I think going by tail lights? Mayo reg. nice.

Spotted one of these earlier in Cork city centre. Fiat Fiorino van.

Exact same colour, spec and condition as the pic. Registration 95 MH.

Not quite - there was a Mk. III Granada, which was a rebadged Mk. I Scorpio, an American model at the time, with the "Scorpio" badge denoting the high-spec version on the European cars. This one looked like a grown-up Sierra, rather fetching in black. I agree the Mk. II Scorpio (known as the Scorpio all over the world by that time) was a strange-looking thing, though. :pac:

Ya they were a class looking car. Lift back only iirc. 2.9 ghia.
