Ya they were a class looking car. Lift back only iirc. 2.9 ghia.

I thought the Mk 3 Granada was the bees knees back in 87/88 - especially in Scorpio spec in black with black leather.

They did bring out a saloon later on (1990) and even later in the 1992 facelift with the new dash - an estate.

Back then - if you had a Granada - people would have seen it as a proper car - a nice car to actually have.

Normally 2001 is WAY too new for this thread.

but I thought the fact it was a Fiat Marea was worthy of note -they aren't very common these days

Spotted a silver BMW 5 Series in city centre traffic yesterday evening. 86 D - looked like a daily driver as the back seat was crammed with cardboard boxes.

I *think* I saw an Audi Quattro Hatchback the other morning. Dark coloured with a 1984 reg (possibly) but it was pitch black at that hour so I couldn't make it out.

Yesterday afternoon, a Golf Mk I, tatty blue paintwork, a bit smoky and on original plates. Topped by a Golf GTi Mk I this morning. Black with trademark red trim on the grille with original plates. It looked in amazing condition. Equally amazing was how bloody tiny it looked next to the more modern cars.

And for one year 93-94 they put Cosworth engines into the estates as they finished off the model.

With that distortion it looks like you somehow attached a raindrop right on the lens!

The Ford Orion in the earlier posts is currently on sale on a UK classic car site. They're looking for ~3500 euro for it! Turns out its a limited edition car and probably worth every penny as these things are only heading one way price wise.

I cant post links here yet but for those of you who might be interested its carandclassic (dot) co.uk/car/C587198.

Also theres more infor on the background on

    aronline (dot) co.uk/blogs/cars/ford/escort/tickfords-ford-orion-1600e/

Hope this post if not going too far off topic.

It was on Donedeal too. It's a Tickford or something like that. Not worth €3500 though imo. Rarity ≠ value in my humble opinion.

Nowhere near as old as most stuff in this thread, but I got given a 96 Polo today for free.
Has sat in a yard since June 2011. Jump leads, and she fired up after only about 10 seconds turning. Pumped up the 3 almost totally flat tyres, and drove it home.

Now that's what I call a bargain. Any chance of seeing a few pictures of it?
