In other words, things work fine in other countries, without resorting to a halfwit system of plastering bits of paperwork all over the front windscreen.

What probably happened is, the other nearby countries brought in the law that required the bits of paper to exist and then Ireland, like the "eager to join the gang" Jack Russel among the pack of Dobermans decided to go the extra mile and insist they be stuck to the windscreen

A common trend for Irish bureaucrats, who always seem to jump from having no laws in a subject area at all, to bringing in an infinite list of confused and conflicting rules and regulations.

Restored well, that would actually be a nice rare RHD irish example. If you were really into it, you could drive that over to eastern Europe and get it fully restored for very reasonable money.

And this was in the back, from a Mk1 Fiesta I think. There were two from an old Starlet but a neighbour took them

I'm inclined to agree with Duke. They look like MK1 Fiesta wheels to me. Top work Duke, I spotted that and drooled over it.

Seen a blue 81-D land cruiser today, and a Toyota corolla WZS ??? ,time warp up in Sandyford this morning or something (no camera on me at the time)

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

WZS would be an 84/85 Dublin plate

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭selous

Something around that, it even had (I presume) the original reg plate of the black plastic numerals on the red plate at the back, didn't look in bad nick either,

Don't know what's happening with the size of the picture, have to study a bit more. But if you click on the image, it brings you to the Imgur site, and a proper size image.

Do I have to tell you its a Supra? :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,080 ✭✭✭✭Big Nasty
