How about we post meals for 2 adults + 2 children for a fiver? The meals should be tasty, nutritious and easy to make..

    I'll get the ball rolling..

Spagetti Carbonara - Adapted based from the recipe in The Silver Spoon to replace pancetta with streaky bacon and pecorino cheese with mild chedder

    25g butter
    1 clove garlic
    Spagetti
Pack of streaky bacon diced into small pieces
    2 eggs beaten
    40g parmesan
    40g mild cheddar

Melt the butter in a pan, add the diced streaky bacon and clove of garlic and cook until the clove turns brown. Disgard the clove of garlic. Add the spagetti to a large pot of salted, boiling water. Cook until al dente, drain and add to the cooked bacon. Remove from the heat, pour in the eggs, add half of both cheeses and season with pepper. Mix well so that the spagetti is well coated with the eggs. Add the remaining cheese, mix again and serve.
