Great to see a proper alternative to the usual.

It usually won't show up on the promoters page for a few days or even weeks

But it shows up on all the Irish news sites, with tickets on sale Friday from 9am according to RTÉ

Been told I am getting a Pixies ticket for Christmas, so very happy with that. Robert Plant will prob sell quickly, and Elbow will prob sell out before I can afford a ticket, if not I will definitely be trying to attend all these shows.

My wife has told me that Herself and I are required to bring her Mother and Father to this. What am I going to do? This could be the first big test that our marriage has faced. She will find herself very single very soon if she presses this particular issue. I could fake my own death, but it does seem a little extreme for a Cliff Dickchard concert, Or does it?

Try and fake an illness :D

July 10th. Neil Young & Crazy Horse.

Really good line up shaping up there for 2014. Such a shame it is marketed soooo so badly. The Aiken promotion site is dire and (I made this point too during this years festival) it is so hard to find useful information about the gigs, transport, accommodation etc. Live at the Marquee should be a huge, Summer festival attraction to Cork. So much more could be made of it as a focal point to get tourists down to Cork and the south of Ireland in general.

Anyway, tickets for Elbow got! :D

Really? Bit saucy, I thought - although I still purchased. €50 a pop (well, €49.55), including Ticketmaster's cut.

Has anyone here seen the Pixies in the last few years? Thinking about getting a ticket but I've heard mixed reports about them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 370 ✭✭KrakityJones

Yep been to see them twice in the olympia, once in Phoenix park. Excellent every time.

    GO, that's all I'll say.

Smaller venues suit them better, and I think they've said themselves they prefer playing smaller crowds. The last olympia gig they were on fire, even without Deal, but the sound up there was crap. I remember thinking how good a gig it would have been if the sound had been like the Marquee (or at least any gig I've ever seen in the marquee where sound has been top notch).

so yeah - go, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't.
