Gaelcon the largest gaming Con in Ireland is happening this weekend. South Dublin BoardGamers will be there in force starting with a pre Con Arkham Horror night on Friday where we will running two games simultaneously and no doubt will be handed our asses on a plate as normal by Cuthulu and his friends!

Saturday morning and afternoon usually sees the next generation of gamers trouncing their elders in whatever is played.

For the rest of the time there will be constant gaming and games on the table currently include Terra Mystica Dominant Species Mecanisburgo Game of Thrones Imperial, Colonial, Compounded ,Twilight Struggle A Distant plain ,Android Netrunner Game of Thrones Lcg to name but a few.

So if you happen to be at the Con drop over and say hello and if you are interested there might be a seat going in some of the games can't guarantee it though!

how does that work, when you say games might have had a seat available? Do people just play by themselves in groups, or is it that there was some booking involved? never been.

    Hi,

The comment was made in the context that we as a Group organised to play a lot of games over the weekend and anybody was welcome to join us if there was a seat available at the game being played. Generally speaking your find that Groups such as ourselves or friends meet up to play but not exclusively. We generally bring our own games but the Con provides a large amount of games for people to try free of charge. They also run some tournaments eg Netrunner which have a small entrance fee and require booking usually on the day.

My other thread lists all the games played by the Group over the weekend it was exhausting but great fun!

    Hope that helps clarify it!

    Regards

    Jim
