Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    MU-vs-Stoke-City.jpg

    Old Trafford
    26/10/13
    3pm
    Referee: Lee Mason

    Manchester United team news:

Robin van Persie is set to return for Manchester United's Barclays Premier League encounter with Stoke at Old Trafford.

The Holland striker missed the Champions League win over Real Sociedad with a combination of niggling injuries, but has recovered and could partner Wayne Rooney.

Danny Welbeck (knee) and Tom Cleverley (calf) are unlikely to figure as United look to record an 11th successive home win against the Potters.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Nani, Fellaini, Carrick, Giggs, Anderson, Young, Zaha, Januzaj, Kagawa, Rooney, Van Persie, Hernandez.

    Stoke City team news:

Skipper Ryan Shawcross and defender Geoff Cameron are Stoke's major doubts ahead of Saturday's trip to Manchester United.

Shawcross has not trained all week due to illness, whilst Cameron missed last week's draw with West Brom after picking up a calf injury.

Mark Hughes' men are looking to improve the paltry tally of four goals scored but Stoke have not won at Old Trafford since 1976 and have lost on their last 10 visits.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Sorensen, Palacios, Cameron, Huth, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Munessa, Pieters, Walters, Pennant, Etherington, Whelan, Jones, Adam, Wilson, Ireland, Nzonzi, Assaidi, Arnautovic, Crouch.

Kagawa I would say without a shadow of a doubt. I don't think Rooney will be played on the left again anytime soon.

    United bench?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,672 ✭✭✭ScummyMan

I'd like to think that Kagawa, Rooney and Nani will be interchanging regularly, with RVP up top.

I dont get the people above not wanting Rooney to start

Me either  Hes worked his bollox off this season

If the arguement is Kagawa should be playing instead of him behind rvp he hasn't done enough to warrant starting ahead of him

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

Should be a comfortable victory for man United today. Stoke don't offer much.

  • Registered Users Posts: 919 ✭✭✭RVD420

Would love to see Adnan come on for Rooney at some point, Kagawa moves in behind RVP with Januzaj on the left. (RandyMarsh.jpg)

Its simply a suspicion that working his bollox off is not in fact what we need from a number 10.

Ruud Van Nistlerooy was still playing well and scoring goals when we sold him, but selling him was best for the team. People are starting to wonder if its a similar scenario with Rooney, his personal performances appear good but the team performance is crap, and which is more important?

Moyes can't be blamed for that shocking defending. It's not his fault we are a goal down already.

Nani already the best player on the field.
