700-800 build, also seeking advice

Hey guys, i've finally decided to take the plunge and try my hand at building a PC for gaming and work. From research, i'm looking to spend somewhere between 700-800 euro. I'm hoping that at this price i can get a build that can play current games maxed out, and that can play future games on high enough settings for a few years? I'm willing to spend a bit more money than my budget only if it would really be worth it for my needs. Any help would be much appreciated.

1. What is your budget? - [€700-800 flexible]

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? - High settings gaming for the next few years and autocad

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? - Yes, either 7 or 8 it doesnt bother me.

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? - No

5. Do you need a monitor? - Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. - About 20'-22'

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? - Keyboard, mouse and wireless card

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? - Yes, but would need some advice on it

8. How can you pay? - Visa card, bank transfer

9. When are you purchasing? - In the coming week hopefully

Something like this should do nicely.

You would have to download the windows 7 trial and make an install disk on an 8gb usb stick or a dvd and activate it with the key from Amazon. Or borrow an install disk from somebody.

I didn't include a dvd drive but add one if you need it.

Nice! Thanks for this. II forgot to mention that i was considering an ssd. Do you think it's worth it paying extra for one? If so would you have any recommendations?

Edit: Would i be able to try overclocking with this config?

Thanks! Would the higher memory clock speed of the R9 not make any difference though?

They will both overclock equivalently.

Yes I'd grab an ssd. It depends how much you want to spend. The cheapest option for a decent os and main programs drive would be something like this.

For a bit more you can get this for double the space and higher speeds + durability. Or one of the new higher end ssd's from samsung that would have good speeds.

Just make sure that cpu cooler fits that case as well. It should do. You should be good for an overclock in the 4.5 - 4.8ghz region with those.

The memory speed on the card won't make a big difference.

Thanks! I think I've got nearly everything I need now. Just one last question. Do I need to buy thermal paste for the CPU? If so does it matter much what type I get?

The CPU cooler comes with some decent paste. If you like, you can buy some superior Arctic M4 for ~4 euro on HardwReversand, but the difference in performance will be minimal.
