secondary school teaching via online learning

hey to the boards community, I am currently living in Australia but looking to study secondary school teaching with a view to working in Ireland.
ideally I need to study online to maintain my current job, I am a qualified carpenter with no other qualifications. any advice on how to go about this would be of massive help to me.

It might be possible to achieve an undergraduate degree from the above via distance education which would qualify you for one or more subjects - as far as I know you would need to complete a two year postgraduate qualification incorporating class room experience on top of your undergraduate degree here in Ireland though before you began teaching.

You might be able to study an undergraduate degree in Australia and have it recognised in Ireland - I can imagine it would be difficult to get foreign degrees recognised however. http://www.open.edu.au/courses/undergraduate/

Before you do start anything make sure it would be acceptable to the teaching council.
