I need to get a new laptop. Have an old dell running almost on fresh air memory wise so anything is an upgrade. I looked in PC World and was perplexed and confused by offering. I see that touch screen solid state are creeping in-is there a big shift to these in the offing?

    Requirements:
Something that is futureproof-at least current in terms of memory, processor and graphics.

    Uses:
I watch some movies on line. Don't do games. Will shortly have a need to edit video from my increasingly dangerous bike commutes (gopro/dealx camera)
    Social media, general computing.
I will probably re-rip my CDs at a higher rate so a built in drive seems advantageous but could live with external.

I don't have a fixed budget but as a guide €400-600. Would like options at basic standard for my use to a higher spec machine.

    Thanks
