Was heading up Sean Mulvoy rd this morning about 10:15am.

Spotted a car which looked as if it was coming out of the ESB offices.
When I got closer, realised it was AGS in unmarked car with a hand-held speed camera out the window.

Was doing about 55km/h at the time.

Never seen a camera there before.

Fair play to AGS. The 50kph limit is widely ignored http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=58242074

That's actually a fairly regular spot since they lost their parking space on the headford Road roundabout. If he didn't follow and stop you you are fine

Is that what they do? Seems an awful waste of time and resources to me. While they're chasing one speeder there'll be another couple of hundred motorists passing the same spot well in excess of the speed limit.

BTW, OP, if you really were doing no more than 5 km/h over the limit, then the odds are that you won't be done for it.

Actually seeing Blue lights pulling in someone and posts like this will do more to slow people down on that stretch of road than parking a van there that will issue tickets weeks later. an instant response will always have a bigger impact on people than having to wait a few weeks and being able to shrug it off as something in the past

In light of the new exit from Sean Mulvoy park which allows cars to exit right crossing 4 lanes, the Gardai are to be commended for speed-checks here.

Hopefully when the word gets around, it may slow motorists down, avoiding potential collisions.

There was also a fatal crash on that stretch of road in the last 10 years.
