Anyone know anything about the grant that you can get for a rennovation for an old building (pre 1915). It was announced in budget and have no idea where to go find this out. Doing up a very old house this year.

If it was only announced in the budget- the details and how it is to be implemented, will be in the Finance Bill.

It's the living cities initiative. Not a grant, but a tax initiative whereby you can claim tax relief for the renovations over 10 years. Available in Dublin, cork, Galway and Waterford cities.

Edit for The Conductor, it's an expansion of an existing scheme, which was available in Waterford and Limerick last year.

Thanks to both of you. I have been trying to call the SEAI (sustainable energy association of Ireland) but no answer for last while. Will google that living cities initiative now. Do you know whether there was something mentioned about having an application in prior to building commencing or something?
