I've estimated that it is about 4.5 to 1 ratio.

The record distance covered by a bike in one hour is about 92k. For a run it is about 21 km. 92 divided by 21km gives roughly 4.38 so a 10 km run should be the equivalent of 43 km cycle.

    Would that be correct?

    its not 92km.

    Its 55km (UCI not HPV)

6miles is a short enough run, so whatever a short cycle is.

I'd run 6 miles in about 40 mins, and I'd cycle about 27km in the same time. Which would align with your 4.5 ratio nicely. I would favour cycling over running myself mind.

World Record for 10km run is 26mins 17secs, if world champ Tony Martin was to average 55km/h for that time he would cover about 24km so there are the two top athletes over the same time.

For me that is about right, I would cover 10km run in about 38mins and would be around the low to mid 20's km wise for that same period on the bike

Looking at the calorie expenditure would be another way.
    Or Training Stress Scores.

But I suspect the OP wants a number - of which there is none.

If the OP, was to change their logic, and cycle for the same amount of time as it took them to do the 10k and at the same intensity, that will give them their number.
At least this value could be used for testing purposes.?

has to be 6 miles of cycling ;-0

slightly more serious if you where to believe triathlon is a balanced sport it would be approx 25 miles

or in another way a pro cycilst would cycle approx 750 k a week a pro marathon runner about 170 k a week
    or a pro triathlete runs approx 75 - 100 k a week and cycles 35o ish k a week
