Can anyone tell me the name of this tree, deciduous and purple "flower, at end of couple branches, ends of branches have soft downy texture to them. See attached photo

looks quite like a sumac to me. Just to beware some of them are toxic if nearby kids get hungry

Is it a Rhus? The flowers look like those on a Rhus. And the branches have soft "furry" feel.

Rhus typhina is stag's horn sumach and don't be feeling those branches too much

While they are nice to look at, they send out suckers like mad, you could ed up with a garden full of sumac!
