We're staying at the Gibson hotel for the Depeche mode concert next week, are there any nice pubs near there? We're not nightclub types and don't really want to head into the city centre after the concert.

If I remember correctly there's a pub / bar just outside the Gibson, partly underground. Was never in there though, we just went back to the Gibson for some drinks.

The Brewdock, beside Busaras, is a great pub.

The bar in the Gibson's alright, I prefer to head round to The Green Room on Upper Sherrif St before and after gigs in the O2 though, usually decent music and a good crowd of conert goers in there.

Thanks for all the replies, I really didn't want to pay 11.50 for a gin and tonic in the hotel bar.

Great range of beers & ales. Non of your Heino shyte. If I lived in Dublin this would be my local.

Probably not the most comfortable of pubs for sitting in - wooden kitchen style chairs.

Brewdock is great selection wise but they really need to work on the layout and fittings. Very awkward set up upstairs with the mix of people drinking and some sitting down to eat. Not comfortable either.

Harbourmaster is a good shout too.

Il Lagoona is one Luas stop away at Mayor Square.

Head across the bridge and go to The Yacht, South Dock or The Oarsman in Ringsend. Great pints in all of them.
