hi all. i've been trying to give up smoking for a while now and have being doing well with a mix of disposable and "smokegreen" electronic cigarettes (the future of smoking!!). i'm a bit lost in the world of cartomizers, atomizers, and such. i don't know what these words mean. what i'm asking for is some advice on where to buy a good entry level device (i've looked at the stickies and they are old) that is refillable with the little bottles you buy online and gives decent smokage.

if any of ye can point me in the right direction i would be much obliged.

Well for me I prefer to use a cartomizer tank! I got pre-punched cartomizers and a cartomizer tank (which comes with a cartomizer and a drip tip) from ezsmoke.com I would also suggest you get a few extra drip tips as I always seem to lose mine. It's quite easy but it's so daunting when you first start I think.

I use two eGo-T batteries I got on VapeRUs a few months back.

I also get all my liquids from bargainvapour.com as they have great prices and great juice with varying strengths of nicotine.

So first things first, if you decide to get a cartomizer tank the first thing you do is take off the little rubber thing that is around it and fill it 3/4 of the way with the juice of your choice. Different people let it sit for different times but I prefer an hour minimum as sometimes if you let it sit for less it can taste burnt and it's dead. You out the driptip on the cartomizer and blow into a bit of tissue to get the excess juice out, but if you let it sit for long enough there's usually none for me. Then I always twist it onto the battery to make sure it's working fine as it's happened too many times where I forget to check and I out on the tank and fill up the tank only to discover its a burnt cartomizer so the juice is pretty much wasted.

So if that's going good, take off the driptip and slide down the tank. Leave it opened a small amount to fit a needle bottle (oh I forgot to mention, get a needle bottle! Using syringes alone to fill a carto tank is the worst) and then fill it up with liquid. Push down the tank and put on the drip tip and you should be flying it :D

    Whoops nearly forgot..

Everything mentioned and other important things:

    Batteries
    http://www.vaperus.ie/batteries-passthroughs/184-joyetech-ego.html
(I definitely recommend you get at least two, waiting for one to charge is annoying)

    Battery charger:
    http://www.vaperus.ie/chargers/186-joyetech-charge-lead.html
(If you buy a starter kit or something like that a charger should be included but if not, don't forget to get one!)

    Pre-punched cartomizers:

    Cartomizer tank:

    Drip tips:

    (Defo get a few spares!)

I started off (and still use) a clearomiser. These are simple tanks that you fill with juice, screw on to your battery and off you go.

Starter kits vary in price depending on how much you want to spend, this one http://www.e-smokeireland.eu/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Kangtwist is probably the most popular. Put "boards" as the voucher code for a ten percent discount.

For half the price, this kit is more basic and doesn't come with any juice. http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/electronic-cigarettes-starter-kits/194-single-ego-c-twist-with-ce4-starter-kit.html but you can get a small bottle for €5. Put irishvape in for a ten percent discount.

I agree with Fred.... this is the kit I started on too and it's great value with a shed load of juice/liquid thrown in.

    http://www.e-smokeireland.eu/Product...Code=Kangtwist

Also @Fred, you linked the kanger twist twice there, am guessing you meant to link something like this one from vaperus instead.

    http://www.vaperus.ie/starter-vaping-kits/389-evod-protank.html

Good luck tjones64..... Once you get going, the jargon all besomes quite familiar, and a quick google something like below you'll find loads of information.

    What is a cartomiser
    What is a clearomiser
    What is an atomiser

There's also loads and loads of info in this sub-forum too, you just have to have a nosey around

Just be aware it can be a slippery slope into all sorts of complicated and shiny devices :-)

First drop the disposables into a bin, they are pure crap not worth even a euro.
Secondly save up a bit of money 60-70 euro should be fine for beginning and get a decent kit, vaperus have best kits so far from any irish vendor.
Then buy yourself advanced kit that suits you,by size, amount and functions etc. Then you will have a kit that will allow you to experiment with clearomizers and advance to atomizers or any type of tank/container coil setup in the future.

some kits to consider-itaste v3.0 has screen, omh and voltage control-entry level but open to upgrades.
Other kit would be itaste vtr or innokin svd both have removable battery, omhs reader and many other options.
and last evic kit-mini computer has almost any option youd want, the head is designed to accompany any clearomizer atomizer there is.
Once you get familiar with workings of battery and your device then you can start expermenting with different clearomizers atomizers,to get best vape using options available on device and tank you choose.
Beginners kits are good for out and about, but once you realize that there are more options then standard on and off button then its up to you how far and deep into this stuff you want to get,as for example good atomizer can cost over 100e easily alone, plus you need knowledge how to make your own coils and setup it properly, where clearomizers work more like atomizers only difference is you can buy ready made coils for them, and most of them work simillar way to atomizers.
