Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I really can't see how Monaco can continue in the league with such an uneven playing field.

either they volunteer to cap their wages in line with that the other clubs will be able to pay (take home) or the other clubs will try force them out of the league.

The French would go on strike if they didn't get their croissants for breakfast on time.

Haven't the French Federation told Monaco to relocate their headquarters to France or risk being kicked out?

This isn't a Monaco issue, the morality (or not) of a 75% income tax on people who may only earn such money for 4 or 5 years is the issue.
Thats the reason for the strike.

On the continent, the clubs pick up the players tax bill. The players income isnt affected. That will change in France come contract negotiations time!

Obviously the clubs would account for the tax when negotiating though so I'm sure the indirect effect is similar enough.

The government is not going to be changing the law for footballers in fairness,

Anyways I believe the high tax is generally popular in France, as only a small minority earn enough money to b e hit by the 75% rate

What I meant was current contracts, the club would take the tax hit. New contracts would be a different story. It would see the best of ligue 1 looking to leave or clubs taking on more risk.

It would put a glass ceiling on ligue 1 and thats before dealing with Monaco.
