    Realising:

that the last time I actually used a floppy disk is over 13 years ago!

the last time I even saw a VHS video tape is over 10 years ago!

    CD's are obsolete!

Recording mixtapes is something I havent done in 20 years :/

I still have a couple of vidoes marked "Don't tape over - ever" with fave films like Die Hard on it.

Don't know why I still keep them I know I'm never going to watch them :(

39 is worse than 40. I thought I'd be fine about it but last year I got all nostalgic and weird about it. I turned 40 earlier this year and it wasn't too bad. I think it's the first milestone birthday that most people don't look forward to. Enjoy 38, cause 39 can be rough:D

If they made a modern equivalent of "That '70s Show", it would be called "That '90s Show" and would be set in 1991.

That's a foreign pound coin, genius  The Irish pound coin didn't exist until 1990.

    2 things

When I get new students in my college and they're born in the mid-90s and yet are fully grown adults. Jeez, another few years and they'll have been born in the noughties.

Going into a club and instinctively reaching for my ID before realising that the days when I needed to prove I'm over 18 are long over.

That's not old. They ask me who I'm here to collect...

One that gets to me is that kids who were born in the year 2000 are in secondary school.

Or kids that are 18 were born circa 1995.

When I met some of my cousins from America during the summer, one of them was 15. For some strange reason, I was stunned when I realised he'd been born in 1998.

It's been 8 years since the last Star Wars film was released.

It's been 7 years since I sat the Leaving Cert... I still remember so much of it like it was just last summer. Fúck me...

Its 21 years since we found out Bishop Eamonn Casey had a son. Seems pretty innocent now considering everything that came out about the clergy in the years after.

Lucky you - 17 years for me! 2006 totally seems recent to me. Things get more and more like that the older you get.
    1999 nearly 15 years ago... how? :(

The first album I bought was 90125 by Yes. Next week it will turn 30.

edit: a better discussion of the album's importance is here.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I had just done the leaving cert 8 years after the last star wars film was released. ie. the last star wars film I will acknowledge, Return of the Jedi. :D For me it barely feels like 8 years since ROTJ never mind 8 years since ROTS!!

22 years since the LC for me. 40yo in January. Feel, Act and most importantly Look like mid 20's. Yay Me! The credit must go to my parents for finding fine genetic specimens to reproduce with. :D

You can go on a tv show and become a millionaire. I remember Where in The World in the late 80's. Everyone was still poor and you could win things like a hoover or washing machine.

I'm only 22 but a few weeks ago I was at a Taekwon-do event in another club and afterwards a group of the girls who have higher belts than me were discussing fake IDs - whether they'd get in to the pub or not - and how they're finding the first term of college... They looked at me like I was a dinosaur when I said what age I was :pac:

Also, whenever anyone refers to me as "the lady" when talking to their kids (which happens a lot cause I work in retail).

    2005 was 8 years ago :O

    Stop the lights !

first prize was 1p ... that's right ... 1 single penny ... next prize was 3p and thereafter 5 p increments. Such largesse

As a very small child, in the early 70's, with only one channel to watch, Quicksilver was hard to miss, and even harder to watch. I used to be hypnotised by the light sequence, and it was always a shock when the contestant would splutter "Stop the lights Bunny! I know this one!".
