    Help!

I've gone into safe mode and into "regedit", but can't find:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

    as required by this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215

I don't have the laptop here, I'm helping (lol) someone via phone.

    Any ideas?

I bet you anything AVG is installed on that machine, it's the main culprit at the moment for that problem.

The registry path should exist, or else Windows would be truly fùcked.
