Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,

So I'm finding it reeeeally hard to find decent radio shows or podcasts that play good alternative bands. I find most people throw synth pop under the inde/alternative label now and while a good tune is a good tune, most of it is crap.
My biggest problem is finding a show that promotes good new stuff. Example is I came back from 2 years of living in the country and couldnt wait to listen to Phantom fm again. They're still playing Bullet with Butterfly Wings, they played it TWICE in 12 hours. Plus the rest of the stuff they play now is commercial and playlisted. Remember when it used to be a cool station???

Anyway I dont wanna harp on I'm looking for stuff along the lines of PinBack, QOTSA, Mars Volta, Radiohead, Gomez, Fiona Apple, Deerhunter, Warpaint, Chelsea Light Moving, Parquet Courts, Bloc Party, Black keys, Silversun Pickups, Frank Black,Blonde Redhead, Cage the Elephant etc etc...

I'm not looking to spark an argument about whats good and whats not. I have my own internet radio show(which I wont dream of giving the name of for fear of having this thread taken down by the moderators) and I just want to see if there are people out there that can recommend shows that are actively taking an interest in decent alternative tunes foreign and local.

    thank you :)

Hi, have you tried the tune in radio app, search for indie/alternative and add the decent ones to your favourites, I enjoy altrok and 100hitzradio indie, etc.Mind you I do flick a lot between them :-)

The Alternate Side is another good station available on Tunein.

I love the Music Weekly podcast from the Guardian but it covers a wide range of genres, everything basically.
