10 house estate the developer has gone bust. The estate has 2 pump houses which are not being serviced and now there is a problem with the drains. The council have advised us to apply to have them take over. The question is has anyone filled out these forms? They are very indepth length of drain etc
    Appreciate any feed back

Are you part of a management company?

    Has the road been completed?

Ah ok, you are likely to be in a good spot to request it taken in charge so.

Don't forget although the council will be responsilbe for the upkeep of green areas etc once they've taken the development in charge - the reality of the siutation is that the residents will still have to do this, as the council will NOT come and keep the green area cut and tidied. Plus once you sign up your road becomes a public road and all that comes with that.

Also, you could look up the planning application for the development online at www.wexford.ie and look at the plans there, it should give you all the information required.

The local authority will complete an inspection of estate including road surfaces , lighting , footpaths , drains , septic works etc -

If all is not in order the local authority will not take over the estate as there is no funds available to do remedial works
