Have you requested a new password using your e-mail address as username?

That's what I tried but it won't recognise the email address. I presumed it was due to the inactive status of my account.

Do renewals have to be CI vetted? First time renewing but had to call CI to get into the new system.

If you registered online last year you simply need to request a password re-set using the e-mail address you registered with as username. I think the only complication there is likely to be is if you have changed e-mail addresses since last year - then you may need the help of the office

If you are renewing as a club member your club needs to approve it (which again they do online)

That didnt work, they didnt appear to have a record of me on the new system. so after a few emails to CI they decided to call me and I think they just created a new account in my name. How long will it take for CI to OK my application
    ?

    If acting as a
    Comm
    Manager
    Mechanic
    Soigneur
    Doctor
    In a UCI race

then the licence needs to be endorsed with that designation

Hi, just seeking some info re Cycling Ireland licenses. I am not a member of any club however I would be interested in taking part in some of the non race leisure cycles for example, the Skoda series and other similar events. I notice that there are both the introductory and the non competitive membership which I believe are the categories most suited to my needs. I am enquiring if the introductory would allow me to gain entry to most if not all of these events. Thanks Ben.

I had a solo licence in 2013. I intend to join a club for 2014. The only way of doing it as far as I can see is to request a transfer. As my last licence was solo the web site won't let me pick a club off the list. I can't set up another profile unless I change my email address. So a transfer looked to be the only way. Or have I missed something obvious?

I'm waiting to pay for a competition license (application has been approved by the club) and can't seem to proceed as getting this message:

"Your application is currently with Cycling Ireland, no further action required."

Any ideas how long it takes for them to process this so I can actually pay for the license? Have emailed but haven't heard back yet.

    Thanks!

You dont say how long you are waiting at this stage of the process? Only thing I can tell you is that with mine it moved very quickly once it got to that point. Took a long time to get moving at all but a day or so to get it sorted once it did start moving.

Has the 'Upgrade' license button gone missing for anyone else?

Ok, well that's certainly longer than I waited. Just a day in my case. They must be getting swamped again.

Yes it will, It's a standard non-race licence just at a discounted price for your first year.

Can anyone confirm if this not just an issue for me. There used to be an Upgrade button on the Member page, it is no longer there now and so at the moment there is no way to upgrade my license.

Just had a quick look, the box with the drop down menu to select licence type is disabled for me and there is no upgrade button.

I thought you were supposed to upgrade when renewing - there was some flexibility last year as they brought in the ability to upgrade after going live with the renewal system

I have a leisure licence, if I decided I wanted to take out a limited competition licence to race in a club league then there doesn't seem to be any way for me to do that, thinking about it now I don't know if that qualifies as an upgrade if not then I probably wouldn't have an upgrade button.

Still can't get past the license selection page.

It constantly says "Awaiting renewal, please select license type and submit" in a warning banner in yellow at the top but it won't let me submit no matter what I choose.

Anyone know is there any other reason it would say this? I have selected my license type but it won't progress.

How long is it taking from payment to delivery of license at the moment?

Paid on the 2nd Jan, had to upload new photo on the 21st still no licence.

Not just me so! I paid January 1st and still no licence!

I only got my license today. I presume it's possible to still race as long as you have the licence number (i.e. this Sunday)?

Just to follow up on this, I decided to go ahead and upgrade my license so left a query on CI's website on Sunday night, they were in touch with me on Monday and took payment details over the phone and lo and behold my new license and race numbers arrived in the post this morning. Fantastic service, cheers CI.

Has anyone here upgraded their licence via the website? From non-comp to limited comp, or limited to full. Can it be done via the portal, or does one contact CI?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭morana

It can't be done via the web-site. The web-site FAQ says that it can but from contacting CI that part of the website hasn't actually been finished yet.

They were really helpful when I contacted them via the web-form to upgrade from non-comp to limited comp a week or two ago. Rang me on my mobile within an hour to sort it out and I already have the new license card.

While not great by a long shot with regard to communication. Sent a query through the website on Sunday and followed it up with a tweet. Called them on Monday but straight to voice mail without even ringing even though it was during the stated hours on the message. Same again this morning on the phone. Not good service at all in terms of responding on those mediums.

However, I took myself into the office just before 1pm today and left 30 seconds later with a replacement license for the one I lost recently and it didn't cost me a red cent! Can't argue with that! Happy and relieved!

I've done the same thing on a number of occasions and always found the CI staff to be really friendly and helpful! However it doesn't excuse the lack of phone answering and returning of mails/messages - most people don't have the luxury of being able to drop by?

they get too many calls apparo. I asked in the past why not use a call centre type operation.

dont know...suggest it in the new 5 year strategy..no phones!

I said it before. renew everybody from this year for next year now! Send lists to club secs to approve etc. Print a licence once and top it up yearly. In belgium you can sign up at a race for a licence.

    Apply after the upcoming AGM.

Licences applied for in November usually run until Dec 31st of the following year so you get an extra 2 months.

I am not sure if CI even issue licences for 2014/current year at this late stage.

I am open to correction on that.

    thanks ragazzo

tbh i don't mind whether im dropping 20 quid for 2 months or 12 months worth of a license i just want to sort whatever needs sorting to be compliant with club rules.

They closed for new members at the end of September. As ragazzo says they will re-open shortly after the AGM, once next year's fees are agreed. From then you can apply and your licence and insurance will be valid until the end of 2015, which gives the opportunity for nearly 14 months for the price of 12

AFAIK there is no current Board member on Boards - I am hoping that will change after the AGM having seen the names put forward for the various positions;)
