Can you conmand allies attacks or just where you want them to go?

I'm loving this so far, exploring Eos is epic and I hear the planets get much better. Really like the look and feel of the universe. I'm never one to bothered by graphics or animation but it's just weird when scotts eyes starting darting around like the guy from the film Identity. Also his eyebrows just go up and down at weird times. It's like the animators are showing off a tech demo. The alien faces are brilliant though.

I saw Eurogamer had an article up along the lines of "why ME Andromeda is so bad". Sick of all the bandwagon hate going on lately, so much negativity.

I'm finding commanding them severely lacking if they do react to direction in the heat of battle they usually take their time about it. Telling them to target is fine though. Enemies usually ignore them and focus on you which is both a plus and a negative.

To be honest this is the first ME game I've actually really enjoyed as opposed to just liking it.

EDIT: Weirdly this is the first bioware title I;ve played where I'm actually not annoyed by the sense that my party are stealing my kills lol

Folks. Im stuck on the fence here regarding Andromeda.

I've been hearing so much bad stuff about it but i love Mass Effect games.

    So, is it worth getting?

Is there any way to increase inventory space or store items somewhere? I don't wanna just sell crap till I'v tested it out. Saying that, being able to start off with a Revenent assault rifle is cool :)

Yeah, you know when you pause the game and you see nexus level in the top right? One of the perks you can get from spending those is increase to inventory space. It come sup on the nexus early as a mission AVP or something and mentions Cryo I think.

EDIT: Talk to the russion guy in Command Ops on Nexus. He's explains all. It opens up after you establish the 1st settlement.

I really can't see what the reviews were talking about and I'm no fan boy of the ME series as I mentioned. I'd imagine character facial expressions aside a fan boy would be lapping this **** up

I'm up to the second world and I'm enjoying it so far.

    Pro's
The environments looks awesome (PC ultra settings), the combat is great and the story's been good enough so far.

    Con's
The games dialog sections and cutsenes are just awful due to how stiff and stilted the animation and delivery of the voice acting is.
The games villains at 10 hours in are pretty meh so far.
The game takes ages to get going and there is a fcuk ton of info just dumped on the player.
The menu and UI system is a step back compared to previous ME games and only being able to track one mission at a time is doing my head in.

Absolutely worth getting, I can't understand the negative reviews or feedback - it's a damn good Mass Effect game and you'll enjoy it if you enjoyed the original trilogy.

Like the other posters say there are some really cool things about the game but it is also very inconsistent. I just found it overly frustrating (esp. the menus and saving) and tbh life is too short. I don't have time to waste on the game. Shame though, I think it could have been very good if a bit more attention was given to the story and basic gaming nuts and bolts.

Oh another issue I have is with this Strike thingy. Not sure what it is but I've found that if I resume the game before I've joined the EA servers (on PC), the terminal won't work. I did eventually cop and got it working but I haven't tried them yet. Found another terminal on the Tempest but by the time I got there, I must have been booted off as I had the "connecting" circle go round and round. Eventually it wold me it couldn't connect, so I gave up.

That's just a way of getting some more resources, and I think some other items. Servers have been down all of today are drop quite a bit, so you're not the only one not being able to use it.

I'm on my second planet (
    the snowy one
) and loving it so far. It's a very rich world, there's tons to find and do.

Attempted to fight an Architect. after 20minutes I gave up - need more DPS!

Personally - I'm loving it. Combat is fun, there's likeable characters to get to know, TONNES to do and, unlike the other games, exploration is a thing. It's like Inquisition having a space baby with ME1, throwing it into a space-pod and being told to fudge off and have a ramble around a gorgeous bunch of planets doing stuff at your own pace.

    That's beautiful, man.

    (and I agree)

6 hours in and I am still on Eos, doing side quests and trying to make sure the planet is viable (that percentage counter is now and OCD for me).

Combat is slick- I basically designed a space melee ninja. Storyline is...decent for the most part. Writing is good to awful (some of it is just plain awful). Animations are horrible, should never of left the dev lab in that state.

However against all this I am really enjoying it. I do think it is because it is Mass Effect is why I am giving it a chance. I have a funny feeling that if it was another IP I would not have been so forgiving.

Is it me or can you only have 3 active skills at once?

Is it weird that the bit
where you show up and the Nexus for the first time and it's all dark
, that I was really disappointed there was no surprise party?

Really enjoying the game so far. I've done 4 planets to near 100% viability, and they have all been interesting enough. Just went back to Eos, and there are even more areas opened up now, so will get stuck into those. Still playing as an adept with a sniper, but might switch to a Vanguard/Shotgun or Engineer type build later tonight.

Got to the ice planet. Love that the cold affects you faster than the radiation, really makes you plan and think before you hop out of the nomad to shoot at Kett. Still playing on insane so that makes you think all the more because the battles can be more drawn out. Got caught out a few times with life support depleting and not watching were a heat source was as I moved from cover to cover.

Found my first bug. I came across my first monolith and can't activate it. It seems I have to go back to a previous version which is really annoying. Just tried going back to an earlier version but no joy

Depends on the order you have gone, given you say its the first. I had the same issue.

I came across my first one on Eos while I was just exploring and after finding the glyphs it just said the console wasn't active.

The issue is you have to come across the first monolith via the story line. Once you find it as part of the story line and do the first one, then the other ones on the planet will work for you.

Im about 15 hours or so into this now. I just cannot understand how it reviewed so poorly. Have loved every minute of it so far. Im playing on Insanity and while the first while was difficult, Im now beginning to really get to grips with it.

The only gripes are the facial animations and the squad AI is poor at times. Constantly holding up on the D pad to make sure they stick with me and don't just dive in and die some place random.

One of the best games Ive played of this new Xbox One/Ps4 generation. *shrugs*

Almost everything I've seen has been mostly positive, from consumers, so yeah I think it was reviewed very unfairly. I'm a massive fan of the original trilogy and I'm really enjoying it so far.

There seem to be quite a few die-hard OT fans/EA haters really slandering the game online, and add to that, all the silly facial animation gif's etc. - mediocre reviews were always inevitable. Most sites/magazines will simply pander to the public.

I'd been doing those APEX missions on the phone app so I'd forgotten about the rewards. Claimed a fair few boxes there. Mostly junk but got an ultra rare sniper rifle called Naladen III hold a decent amount of ammo too for a rifle. Thought it would be a shame not to try it out even though I don't often use them , it's got explosive rounds

is that just for single player?
I know ye can use the mission funds to buy mp stuff, but the mission rewards go directly into your sp game yeah?

Yeah thats pretty much it,have a over 200 funds sat there for MP not wasting them buying items for the strike teams. Seems like a lottery despite the % chance of success. I've has as many successful ones on a low chance as failures on a high one.

Get the juggernaut shield - it's not a consumable and it's +10% shield and 75% to melee damage, hilariously good on a krogan vanguard :)

Anybody running this on a 3570k?

Im fine for gpu but from what im reading an intel quad core pre haswell may not be enough to run this smoothly/60fps. If i cant get a smooth 60fps ill leave it for awhile.

Cant seem to find much concrete online as origin still locks people out of accounts after 5 hardware changes so its just mostly benches with 7700K's floating around as most sites wanted to test gpu first.
