Yeah dashing away from the energy field is the only way to survive but don't forget you also need to stay close to the heaters on the Voeld!

Have you tried crafting armor and using mods to boost the stats you want?

Yup, got level 4 armor with some shield boosts. Can't get any higher till I reach level 30.

So ehh... this just happened to me :pac:

I let my wife try this game out yesterday - am still waiting for it back :/ Supposedly she "didn't realise how good these type of games were" and she can't get enough of the "rainbow coloured aliens" (the angara, including Jaal who she has christened Captain Birdseye). Oh and I'm an also an asshole for not buying it on the store because now we have to play seperated mammy and daddy with the game disc.

Theres also an infinite XP loop on Voeld 5k a minute for those looking at trying builds early on.

Just landed on Kadara thinking I had my house in order then boom tonnes more quests , then went back to tempest for something and more quests and emails. Decided to return to nexus to finish off matters there before tackling kadara and got more objectives.

One niggle I have with Kadara at this point is how it's laid out , I wish it had a secondary landing zone, might very well have if I get an outpost up and running. Guess I should work on that :D

EDIT: Likely said it before but the window for damage on shielded orb guys is ridiculous , these fights even if you play smart can turn cheap fast if your aiming at the other mobs with a narrow fov and you get grabbed because you didn't see her teleport next to you and the orb itself is the biggest bullet sponge in the game. I genuinely feel they need to change one of the two, the time or the damage the orb takes.

    Of course I went into
    Hunting The Archon
thinking we were just going to check it out and didn't put much thought into it before leaving

I'd fully expected to get there and be tasked with something else and then I'd go do the other 2 priority things I got during the meeting.

Just fought 2 more orb guys, weirdly their shield stayed off much longer and the orb was destroyed much quicker,

Keep dying on a Architecht, get to 3 round and it won't show weak point and I'm running around waiting for it, and 50% of the time the cutscene won't load when I have to restart.

    If not a bug, then:
    a) Legs open up - bust one.
    b) Head opens up - bust it.
    c) It closes both and spawns adds - kill them to make it fly a bit and then it'll repeat the cycle.

You sure you killed the adds? Only thing I can think of.
Not had ANY bugs, funnily enough - well, non-cosmetic ones anyway.

Think the adds were clipping under/inside

Fought it on the 1 open side and while there was no cover it didn't use it's own attacks just the wide one and adds which spawned well in the open.

After alighting on the 2nd planet, I decided to return to Eos.
The planetary filter system is working properly now, and I spent 4hrs driving around, blasting Kett & met Zaed Massani's bastard son Bain!

Built that sniper that uses all of a clip at once and used the ME1 retro thermal ammo thing, get 1 shot off at 950 ish damage and about 2 sec of waiting for ammo to come back.

Great for clearing bases from range without worrying about ammo.

Man, those unskippable animations are a pain. I find myself wondering who tests these games or what the point is to testing if you don't figure out these things shouldn't be in a game.

I KNEW it! I got so excited when
the memory trigger mentioned something about a mysterious benefactor. I still have more memory triggers to go
    .

Now I've only just gotten Kadala up to 80% and I've a new planet to discover, so I've a bit to go but
when I heard mysterious benefactor I thought of Cerberus and the Illusive Man
    and then
I find a hideous experiment on the brain by Cerberus. Well now
    .

Think Drack had a run in with
    Zaed
as well, talked about a getting a scar that sounded like it.

I've just discovered I've two bugs and I'm too far ahead to go back to fix them. The first is the shield for the Nomad (which a cursory search reveals it's very common) and the second is with meet Crux
I met with Sloane before checking out The Collective Cave. Ughhh
. For some reason my manual saves haven't recorded in days, so it was either go back several levels and lots of silly side missions.

Aghhh this is really annoying me. The first bug isn't too bad, it's common & will eventually be fixed in a patch but I don't think the other will. I hate hate hate having missions not finished but the last manual save (all the auto saves are too late) i.e. So far back I'd have to do vault stuff and that drives me up the wall. I think I'd lose about 6 levels too. Is it worth it?

The above experience plus the initial trial + early patch crashes taught me to make at least 2-3 manual saves every so often, so no matter what happened, backtracking would be minimal. Recommend doing the same for fear of crashes, bugs or indecision in games like this, especially when it forces automatic saving for critical moments like Andromeda does.

That's the thing, I had manual saves and none of them were recorded for the last 3 days. It's very frustrating. I wouldn't mind if it had been a chapter, but it's the tedious side missions that I have to catch up on that is making me lose my patience. I have to redo all of Kandara, a few bits in Aya & the Tempest and all that scanning of planets. Kandara is just a pain between traveling from the docks to the badlands

    http://blog.bioware.com/2017/04/04/mass-effect-andromeda-patch-1-05-notes/
In the new patch (1.05) for Mass Effect: Andromeda, our focus was on bug fixes and improvements to the player experience.

We’ve introduced a number of balance changes to single player and multiplayer, and resolved some issues with saves not working properly. We’ve also improved lip-sync and facial acting during some conversations, and have implemented a much-requested change that allows players to skip the autopilot sequences in the galaxy map.

Patch 1.05 will begin to roll out on Thursday, April 6th. We’ll continue to listen to your feedback, and we thank you for working with us to create an even better Mass Effect: Andromeda experience.

    and..
    https://www.masseffect.com/news/the-journey-ahead?sf53509845=1
Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:

More options and variety in the character creator
Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams
These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. And we’re looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.

For multiplayer, over the same timeframe, we’re going to continue to build on the APEX missions that have been running since launch. We’ll be adding new maps, characters, and weapons. On Thursday, we kick off the first of three new chapters centered around The Remnant Investigation.

    **** right off.

What are they changing about Hainly Abrams, thought it was just Eurogamer being up their own arses but it seems they're not alone up there.

her voice acting is all messed up - some conversations are normal, most are bizarre, almost as if they used the warm up lines instead of the actual lines she was supposed to be saying. "My face is tired" being one of the more pronounced and odd ones, which is very early into the game.

    That's Addison, different character.

Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
Fantastic! I'm playing Scott and so far have only had 1 male romance option
and that bastard used me! /SPOILER]. No interest in any of the women.
Laughed so much at one stage; I had flirted with Liam but he wasn't interested. Then I popped in to see him and I find him and Jaal naked!

    Drack?

    Drack?
Is Drack an option? I had
kissing and watched the sunset with Reyes
. It was beautiful but then
    I shot him!

I believe Gil is an option but I think I forgot to click on all the heart icons in conversation.

Dunno tbh, can Krogan's even with humans?

I can honestly say, I've never tried :D. My FemShep desperately misses poor Thayne though.

a lot of people complained about his funeral service in ME3, i thought it was good

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,978 ✭✭✭wyrn

I got a bit misty eyed alright, especially when his son talks to you. Wish there was an option to remove Kaiden and find a cure for Thayne. The fecker "forgave" me for hooking up with Thayne, not that he tried to contact me at all and left me for Cerberus. Should have saved Ashley instead.

Jesus its a very pretty game!

Initially animations are not really bothering me. Yeah there a bit wonky but not too distracting so far for me.

One handy feature is the game has a profile for my keyboard,it lights up different keys based on what im doing. Less refering to the binds hopefully!!

    Roll on space opera:)

About to crack - went back to a save from 3 days previous and restart all of the badlands side missions only for another one to break :( This game might kill me.
