I only initially had 1 bug which was crafting the shield for the Nomad. However, after going back to a save a few days previous (the manual saves in between didn't work) I ended up with a load of side mission bugs including the Voeld ones. I can't find all the Kett devices, in another I managed to scan the bodies and find the dude in the cave but it wouldn't finish the task and now on the last scan the bug it won't scan and register.

My OCD for game completion is not helping. The mantra I keep saying to myself is that I will replay it all again in full for a 100% completion when the next game is released. I am assuming it's another trilogy.

Any one notice the Mass Effect facebook post on the music of ME:A? I have to laugh because I'd completely forgotten about the music. Couldn't hum one song. Is there even music in the Vortex? I love the music in the trilogy, that I listen to them regularly. This game I've just completely forgotten that a soundtrack exists, despite owning a copy!

Getting pissed at all the glitches.

Just had unlocked a memory but Scott isn't in it, no one talks where there obviously meant to be something said and then sara walks out with her arm around nothing.

Yeah, really poor music compared the trilogy. Didnt like any of it and i loved most of the stuff in 2 and 3, even the original had some quality music it. Andromeda has nothing noteworthy music-wise at all.

    I'm in the same boat.

My inner completionist is making very long work of this game.

I get that they've built these huge areas to fill up, fetch quests are easy to throw together and that, but if you just ****ed them all off and put in maybe 1 or 2 other meaningful quest chains per planet it'd be a lot better.

There's some sort of mindless compellingness to exploring the world and scanning minerals, but I can't truthfully say I enjoy doing it.

It's interesting to see how this handles them in contrast to, say, Witcher 3.
In this, you always get the experience from all these quests and that leads to wanting to do them and more available skill points, whereas in the Witcher, quests are level-graded and if you're more than about 5 levels over them you get no XP.
That makes it easier to just not bother your arse with them and rather pick and choose a few ones that are convenient to accomplish while you're passing through the area. Even at that, they tend to be more complicated than pure fetch-quests and they've put in some effort to give meaningful dialogue.

They're actually quite well laid out and on-planet fast travel is well implemented, so they're about as easy to do as they can be but I think there's simply something wrong-headed with the current tendency in RPGs to litter them with busy-work.
Further to that, they do help instill the idea that you're a frontiersman getting the job done one little task at a time.
In the end I'd prefer to be doing something that has more of a bearing on the story, though.

Kadara isn't, you can't fast travel from badlands to the port directly unless I'm missing something on the map. It's almost easier to leave the planet and then re land.

I'm one if those idiots who cannot leave until side quests are completed

The PAW and Sweeper weapons in the remnant category are ridiculously good. No bullets, just a cooldown and decent damage output. Carving through Remnant with the PAW when i meet them.

If thats the case you should probably leave the planet, as progressing will open up more stuff to come back to on a given planet :D

Anyone else getting insane frame rate drops on the Tempest, seems to effect PC & console.

Sorts itself in an instance if you walk into the airlock (off the bridge opposite Peebee's escape pod) and out again, but it's only a temporary fix until it happens again.

Occasionally. I think it's heavily influenced by the nature of the region the Tempest is orbiting. I noticed similar drops and stuttering when surveying comets and the overall performance drops are much more pronounced in asteroid heavy systems so I think the game has a big issue with particle processing and not handling occlusion properly inside the ship (processing particles you can't actually see).

not getting that, but since latest update...

Takes ages to even boot into game from Origin,

And loading times have increased in-game.

I've given up on it atm,

multiplayer is a painful grind on gold, the weapons don't work properly, and single player is dull as dishwater. I'm convinced this was released a year too early. I've played better early access games on steam than this mess.

I've a bit of a classic pc (read as: ancient) so when I first downloaded the game, the settings were automatically set to low. Since the update I noticed that the graphics were a bit worse, but it was hard to tell since it was already running on low. The most noticeable change for me, is that the writing is blurry

I'm loving it, finding the single player very engaging. Only thing is it's huge and taking up way too much of my time :pac: 50 hours in and it claims I'm only 50 percent complete.

If the writing is blurry then it sounds like your resolution is too low. Make sure the display resolution is set to match your monitor and look for a setting called "Resolution Scale Mode" and set it to off.

After 131 hours I am done! What a game. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes there were some bugs, dodgy animations and a lack of music but my goodness there was a lot to do AND there was some  moments!

So for the others who reached the end, did you
have a Search for Spock moment when SAM told you to go to Habitat-7? I thought a ME Genesis type project might bring back Alec.

    Also some good news
Gil & I are going to be daddies :D

    Finally,
I loved that The End wasn't the actual end and that there was some closure and celebrations

The only thing that takes the shine off it is that I have so many side missions that won't complete.

    Nice hyperbole :P

Five bugged side quests in my log now. It's pretty poor in a game where your decisions are supposed to carry through to the next sequel.

Anyone know what you do with credits in single player?

I've spent virtually nothing during the game and now have 76000.

You can craft all your equipment and just get an endless supply of crap during the game.

Buy augmentations for crafting and paint jobs for the Nomad. You can also buy resources if you can't be arsed mining.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,456 ✭✭✭✭Skerries

Yeah I have over 40 hours played and haven't bought or crafted anything yet whereas in Dragon Age I was always tinkering
I know you never could in the MA games but I like managing my characters weapons and gear in DA

It is a bit disappointing how I can't give my team mates new weapons.

That's probably the biggest issue with the economy in this game.

I can't possibly use all the mods, armour, weapons mined resources, etc I find.
The only limiting resource is research.

So you just sell, deconstruct or stockpile everything. Splitting it 7 ways across your whole squad would greatly alleviate that issue In a far more interesting way than simply making everything more scarce.
You'd also have the chance to replace your squads gimpy weapons and, y'know, role-play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,539 ✭✭✭✭Varik

A few times I've sold all my current and older weapon mods and bought back the newer ones and rebought some of what I sold, small waste of creds but don't have anything else to do with them.

Problem there is most people just give their squads member their handme downs.

    Yes, but that makes sense.

"I'm the Pathfinder, therefore I get the best weapons.
You don't like it, you can get spaced."

    Yeah, in fairness. Checks out.

Cora will be first out the airlock. Moany cow.

"We've got 80000 people depending on us."

"Yeah! Lets get the best equipment and put whatever resources we can scrounge to the best use possible!"

"Actually, nah, I need 75000 credits for my retirement fund".

I thought I imagined it when I got grabbed from across the room yesterday.

    Seemingly not:

I'm about 40 hours in now and while I'm enjoying it, it just feels like there is something missing. Maybe it's a lack of polish or something.

Doesn't really feel like a next generation mass effect. Just slightly bigger and better looking.

Non interactive NPCs are basically just statues. You can wander around where ever you want and no one seems to care. Straight into the heart of the resistance base. No problem. Straight up to the leader of outlaws. No one bats and eyelid.

I do like the whole exploring aspect though but kinda wish there were more native plants and animals around to scan. It's piss poor from bioware that there are only 3/4 different animal species in the game(so far but not holding much hope for more variety) .

Also, soundtrack is pretty much nonexistent which is a shame.

Really does feel like they just did what they needed to do to get the game out and no tlc was applied anywhere.
