Eircom 1Mb Broadband, what other options??

We have a broadband box from Eircom which gives us 1MB of Broadband.Up until now that has been enough for us, but with other devices in the house now, with 3 children, it is just not enough any more!!

We are at the furthest point from our local Eircom exchange and I have been told that I will only ever be able to get 1MB, nothing faster.

Is this correct, or are there any other methods i.e. box etc., that I could use to up my Broadband speed.

Any recommendations or advice very welcome!!:(

Many thanks for any help out there,

    Orlaith.

Unless there is a fixed wireless provider in your area and you have line of sight to their mast then your only alternatives are 3g which is generally useless, 4g which may not be available in your area, or satellite which is expensive.

I ditched my my telephone line in favour of fixed wireless and VOIP as the line was so bad it wouldn't support broadband at all.

The best bet would be something like this form Vodafone.
I had the older R208 version when i couldnt get broadband in my apartment, i was getting about 12mb download speed but the only drawback is they have a very small cap on download allowance... its 20GB per month and if you go over that you will be fleeced, but if its just for general surfing the net and emails and stuff its good with the od download aswell,,,,, but if you want to download all the time forget it
