Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mert out is a big blow, I'm going to wait and see the United team and then take a punt on 3-2 United, and dust off the rosary beads

2 leagues, Champions League runner up, League Cup.
Thought that would impress an Arsenal fan anyway.

Yes all done without being consistently brilliant.

Wenger saying there is a bug I. The team and some players not 100%

Rumours that Utd's front 4 are Nani, Januzaj, Kagawa and Rooney.

Bugger could give a whole new meaning to "Carzola is dribbling down the wing"!

    OK I'll get my coat!

Would be very happy with that. RvP not starting will be good for Kagawa, who deserves to chance in the middle. Not confirmed yet though.

Gave it straight to RvP in his first touch or two the last time

    Rumours were wrong!

De Gea; Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Jones, Carrick, Kagawa; Rooney, van Persie

subs: Lindegaard, Giggs, Chicharito, Nani, Cleverley, Fellaini, Januzaj.

Merts a huge loss. Flamini will have to cover when TV goes on one his stupid runs up front

    Still impressive though no??
In this day and age that's about as good as you can be expected to do in 4 years.
The football mightn't be as pretty but sure that's another story.

    No defenders on the bench

TV better not be worried about kicking his mate like he was last time

Smalling, Jones and Valencia. Pathetic from Moyes, complete coward.

Rafs Injured. Valencia I agree with though. Jones is there for added cover, probably to man mark Ozil.

That's a strong team for United.

United are big @ 7/5 here, can't see us getting a win with the BFG missing.

that team doesn't look balanced at all. very surprised neither adnan or nani are starting. looks somewhat defensive to me?

Throw a champions league in and I'm impressed :)

It's the football and performances I'm talking about

A good physical team from United as was more or less expected.

    Bring it on!

Valencia starting is a joke, so the onus is all on Shinji "not a winger" Kagawa to supply the balls in from wide.

    Nani should be starting

Hopefully it won't be an issue, that's our strongest midfield we're fielding imo, on paper we should boss the game. Per a big loss though at the same time. Big day for TV.

Well Rafael is injured, Fellaini and Carrick haven't played well at all together and Valencia is a poor choice I'd agree. But with Rafael out its hard to not be conservative on the right.

    I think it's a decent team selection.

Mertesacker out, would bite your hand off for a draw.

I'm hoping for redemption from him! He has a lot to prove. World Cup place at stake

I can only imagine Valencia has been THE number 1 in training every week for the past 3 years and the manager can't not play him. Then when he has 75k people watching him he freezes and passes to the RB/ CDM as often as possible.

Valencia was always going to start this game if fit. It's no surprise at all. Not saying its right but it was always going to happen

    **** off Jones, ffs

Bought a 20m plus player and he cant even make the team, its dreadful stuff

Is ferdinand injured or are his playing days coming to an end? Fellaini on the bench too, jaysus.

This is a huge chance for him to impress again. If he has a ****e game then he is on the bench for the rest of the season.

Bricking it now. Feckin rollercoaster of emotions and this game hasn't even kicked off yet!

In all fairness to him when was the last time he started? Can't expect him to just up his game all of a sudden.

    Very worried.

Such a downgrade from Mertesacker to Vermaelen.

Urgh, don't fancy this at all now without Per and with questions over Flamini and Arteta's fitness. It's going to be a battle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Jaafa

Apparently 5 arsenal players got the virus, but only per and rosicky were bad enough that they had to go home. Arteta and Gnarby are two others that have it.

Fellaini is the type of player that caused Arsenal problems in the past. Admittedly, he hasn't been that player at United yet.

You for real? He comes back from an injury and been dropped and you say if he has a bad game let's bench him for the season?

    Pathetic.

Arsenal will have plenty of the ball looking at the teams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,819 ✭✭✭EuropeanSon

Feeling a bit dodgy about this now without Per, just don't have faith in Vermaelen. Would rather Sagna at CB and Jenks out wide.

Still, this is his chance. Hope he takes it!

    Chelsea match I think.

I wonder will it be Ramsey or Ozil on the wing?

Not really as confident as I was a few days ago, but glad that Nani isn't playing. Be happy with a draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    Vermaelen starting alongside Koscielny...

Let's just hand United a goal from an overeager CB trying to jump out in front and the other not covering now.

    At least Flamini is fit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Southampton dominated us in midfield at OT so it will be interesting to see what happens today.

I used to always worry when facing Man United, not this time round.
It's all playing into our hands at the moment.
Spurs wasting money, city hitting their weakness teams again.
    Come on Arsenal
