Im Just Joking. These are often referred to as MoneyPack virus, basically it attempts to extort money out of you.

have you re-started the computer since? If so is it preventing you from logging on?

You'll prob have to start the pc in safe mode & run malwarebytes

Ok, my advice would be to download the following tools:

    MS Security Essentials

    MalwareBytes

Scan first with Microsoft Security Essentials, once that's finished then go ahead and scan with malware bytes

So is your other laptop still working ok :)

Bottom line is don't pay anything and its not a Garda message.
This is the info behind it.

In the event that this attack begins in Ireland our advice is: DO NOT PAY ANY FINES. This is NOT a Garda initiative. If you become infected by this malicious software all affected computers should be repaired by a reputable repair person.

It might be also worth mentioning that you may need to run the Malwarebytes or Security essentials in SAFE MODE on boot up.

As a work laptop do you not have up to date anti-virus and a firewall installed?

    :)

Im not sure what anti virus/fire wall is on the laptop.

I'll have no problem bringing the laptop into my IT department to get it fixed, im just really baffled how porn pictures got onto my system.

Cheers for all the feedback folks

I've never heard of "b4" :p but I've heard of the garda virus.
The Gardai even have info on their website http://www.garda.ie/Controller.aspx?Page=9445

Viruses will drop a load of files and registry modifications when they infect a PC. Jpeg files are so small in size. I've seen a virus drop 3,000 temp files in %PROGRAMFILES% before, which did nothing but take up all the users hard drive space
