Meeting a runner with ongoing glute problems while out in town on lunch...

Asking "How's yer arse coming along these days?" and having a full blown conversation about it, with no regard for what anyone who may have overheard the question might have thought I was on about :D

I wish her a speedy and progressive recovery. You never know what the future holds as regards recovery and improvement.

Heehee not sure of i should post this in the novices thread, they might fire me for being too bonkers :D:D:D
    strides, strides, strides
Hopefully dis will clarify what tha **** is meant by strides up in tha weekly boardz plan. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. Feel free ta ask ask ask!

    WHO do strides?
    All Y'all should. Y'all KNOW dat ****, mutha****a! 'But I be hustlin a marathon, I don't need speed.'
    Yes, even marathon runners....

WHY should I do strides when hustlin fo' a a marathon, biatch?

    - strides will improve yo' neuromuscular coordination. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. In other lyrics, bustin strides will help you ta retain speed when you focusin on endurance. Da beauty of these is, they aint gonna wreck yo' hairy-ass legs or leave you feelin exhausted all up in tha end of tha run.

    - strides all up in tha end of a easy as **** run will git you used ta pickin up tha pace on chillaxed hairy-ass legs = killa finishin kick Think of yo' crew of 1000s on DCM dizzle as you kick fo' dat finish

Ok so WHAT is these stride thangys?
Strides is a funky-ass basic hustlin drill, fo' tha purpose of marathon hustlin da most thugged-out conventionizzle sort is
    - a cold-ass lil controlled acceleration followed by
    - a sustained speed of up ta 85% of yo' max speed followed by
    - a cold-ass lil controlled deceleration, over 100m total.
If you can't measure 100m, it be aiiight ta do dem by countin (20-30 seconds) or pickin a lamp post or two.

Hmm, aiiight so tell me mo' n' mo' n' mo' yo. HOW do I do them?
-Do dem 'by feel'. For now, if yo ass is freshly smoked up ta strides, keep dem at no mo' than 75% effort fo' realz. As tha weeks go by, you can push tha effort up ta 80 then 85% effort fo' tha middle section (the sustained speed section).
    - If you measure 100m, no need ta time em. Turn tha stopwatch off.
If you do dem by countin or landmark, no need ta put a pace on em. Turn tha gps off (I do ludd sayin dat )
    - concentrate on phat form: run tall but most blinginly stay chillaxed from tha grill down. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. Yo crazy-ass instinct might be ta strain up in order ta *go faster*, you might screw up yo' face...don't son! This is ghon be counter-productizzle n' yo big-ass booty is ghon straight-up run slower n' ****. Well shiiiit, it is impossible ta maintain phat form while tensin up. Right back up in yo mutha****in ass. So RELAX!
    - Think 'quick feet, n' 'light feet'.

Ok, gots dis ****...so WHEN do I do these?
For tha purpose of marathon hustlin, ideally you should do these towardz tha end of yo' run but you can do dem durin tha run, thatz not tha end of tha ghetto. Right back up in yo mutha****in ass. Y'all KNOW dat ****, mutha****a! Yo ass will git outta breath but will also recover doggystyle. Yo ass shouldn't need ta strutt on tha recoveries, if you need ta strutt yo ass is bustin dem too fast. Take whatever recovery you need. Y'all KNOW dat ****, mutha****a! This aint a gangbangin' fatigue-inducin workout. Da strides can be included up in tha total of yo' run or as a lil add-on but always allow a cold-ass lil def down period fo' joggin it out, followed by a strutt if you like. Don't forget ta stretch too!

And finally WHERE should I do these?
Do yo' strides on flat, preferably smooth terrain. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch fo' realz. A slight incline be aiiight fo' realz. Avoid bumpy trails or hard n' dry grassland.
