Recce'd IMRAs Annagh hill race route on the Wicklow Wexford border this morning on a clear sunny (!) morning with great views in all directions. Fantastic day to be out.

My Saucony running jacket - I have no idea what sort of voodoo magic went into the making of it but it somehow still zips up over a 30 week bump.

Cracking morning for a run, 6 degrees, only a hint of a breeze, me, nature and catching up on several science of running podcasts over a few hours.

Reminds me why I love our sport.

    David Bowie.
Now there is the personification of legend.
    A legend of coolness
    a legend of sexiness
a legend of truly brilliant artistry and singing.
Watching him perform China Girl on stage in Dublin quite a few years back is one of my most treasured memories.
Rip David Bowie. We will never know your like again. X

+1, I was shocked when I heard the news this morning, especially with the recent album released and I think a tour planned. The music will live on.

One of the best gigs that I've been to.... http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/david-bowie/2003/point-theatre-dublin-ireland-3d53d83.html

Have a listen to the lyrics of his new song Lazarus. Haunting.

Lunchtime run today as bittersweet. Sweet was the beautiful running weather and the invigoration of getting 7km done while others sat in drab canteen with no natural light drinking tea. Bittersweet was listening to David Bowie on Google Play as I ran. RIP DB

So I am just after putting the 1 1/2 year old to bed. There is a very loud bang at the front door. I run out and see what is up. I see two teenagers about 5 houses up clearly up to no good. I start running they start running. Clearly it was one of them. They vault the wall and I follow. I speed up and get within catching distance to the slowest one though he was defo sub 5 min pace and screaming in fear. I then stop and turn back as I scared the crap out of them. Training plan said that I was only to do an easy run today and not an 800 rep with no warmup and in jeans. Talk about choosing the wrong house. Made my day.

    Rants masquerading as raves.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,193 ✭✭✭PaulieC

I presume that's a reply to my rave ? It's really not a rant. Go and read some logs and reread them. The levels of self delusion in some of them is very amusing, hence rave and not rant.

I have to be honest - The logs here that are littered with made up stories and point scoring only annoy me. You've a better temperament than me :D

Try the track logs. No bullsh1t. Just good oul fashioned hard training and racing. Distance runners need to write a load of waffle to fill up all those uneventful miles. :P:cool:;)
